There is evidence that the Second Bulgarian Empire ruled at least nominally the Wallachian lands up to the Ruc?rbBran corridor as late as the late 14th century. In a charter by Radu I, the Wallachian voivode requests that tsar Ivan Alexander of Bulgaria order his customs officers at Ruc?r and the DC"mbovi?a River bridge to collect tax following the law. The presence of Bulgarian customs officers at the Carpathians indicates a Bulgarian suzerainty over those lands, though Radu's imperative tone hints at a strong and increasing Wallachian autonomy. Under Radu I and his successor Dan I, the realms in Transylvania and Severin continued to be disputed with Hungary. Basarab was succeeded by Nicholas Alexander, followed by Vladislav I. Vladislav attacked Transylvania after Louis I occupied lands south of the Danube, conceded to recognize him as overlord in 1368, but rebelled again in the same year; his rule also witnessed the first confrontation between Wallachia and the Ottoman Empire (a battle ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jul 2024 10:24:51 +0200 From: "Confirmation" Subject: Your Experience with State Farm Your Experience with State Farm http://goldenrevive.za.com/E4GWp6gHT3dOOkt6QNi7tjIb4goUyiwRRF2PKcD_b6qJk2Js http://goldenrevive.za.com/fR7nBRrKN4HNDLigHUG2q-4oEbRbShXFrJFJvnJA1ZFWnukc uly 2013, the Scottish Government announced a plan to install average speed cameras on the A9 between Perth and Inverness. This has been undertaken with an aim to reduce accidents and fatalities on the road, and was the second permanent average speed camera scheme in Scotland. They work by measuring the time it takes to drive between two cameras. Simultaneously, an increased speed limit for heavy goods vehicles from 40 mph (65 km/h) to 50 mph (80 km/h) was introduced to help mitigate driver frustration. This happened before the speed limit for HGVs would then apply to England and Wales. Both became operational in October 2014. The A9 Safety Group claim that the cameras have had a "positive influence" on road users, with the number of drivers breaking the speed limit by over 10 mph (16 km/h) decreasing by 97%. Improvements to safety include at least 40% reduction in fatalities, and this has been attributed, at least in part, to a reduction in speeding, from 1 in 3 vehicles to just 1 in 15. The average speed cameras may be removed after the A9 dualling project is done.[according to whom?] Construction Announcement In November 2011, the Scottish Government announced that it would upgrade the entire road from Perth to Inverness to dual carriageway. The design contract was split into three lots with Lot 1 (Glengarry to Dalraddy) awarded to a CH2MHill/Fairhurst joint venture in April 2014. Between Perth and Inverness, the road has been dubbed Killer A9, because of accidents and fatalities where dual-carriageway sections merge into a single-carriageway - the principal cause being motorists driving at excessive speeds to overtake lines of slower-moving vehicles before the dual carriageway ends. Dangerous overtaking manoeuvres on the long single-carriageway stretches of the road are also common causes of accidents, as are the non-grade separated junctions along the northern sections, where drivers make a right turn across the opposing traffic flow. One of the sections of dual carriageway built in the late 1970s/ early 1980s; this is the section in the north of Perthshire between Dalnacardoch and Dalnaspidal The most significant alteration of the A9 route was the realignment of the route north from Inverness, crossing the Moray Firth via the Kessock Bridge, cutting through the Black Isle and back across the Cromarty Firth. This shortened the route by 14 mi (23 km), bypassing Beauly, Muir of Ord and Dingwall. Construction of the Kessock Bridge began in 1976 and it was completed i ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jul 2024 09:22:04 +0200 From: "Exotic Spice" Subject: Alzheimerâs Quiz: Which Exotic Spice Is Better For Your Memory? The second section of the project was the 6-mile (10 km) section between Luncarty and Pass of Birnam, the first section of what was single carriageway just north of Perth. After having the B#96 million contract awarded ti Balfour Beatty in autumn 2018, construction works began in February 2019.. This section was scheduled to finish in spring 2021. However, like the Kincraig to Dalraddy section, it also experienced a slight delay meaning that this section was finished on August 2021 with off-carriageway works to finish by 2022. The first two schemes combined meant that Transport Scotland has converted 11 miles (17 km) of single carriageway to dual carriageway. Proposed sections Since 2022, no sections of the A9 were either upgraded or under construction. This has also occurred between September 2017 and February 2019 meaning that no major works were also carried out in the whole of 2018. The third section to be upgraded is between Tomatin and Moy, which is also 6 miles long. This is the northernmost section of single carriageway for the scheme. An unprecedented number of officials were detained and arrested under these allegations which resulted in both praise and criticism of Kosor's government. The praise was mostly directed by those who believed that the government had finally taken a stronger stance against political corruption, while others criticized the fact that most suspects were, in fact, members of Kosor's own Croatian Democratic Union. The Opposition accused the government, especially the prime minister, for political responsibility, claiming that it was impossible that Kosor didn't know what was happening around her when she was a vice president of the government almost seven years before becoming prime minister.[citation needed] The accusations grew louder as more and more corruption affairs were tied with the former prime minister, Ivo Sanader.[citation needed] On 30 October 2009 Damir Polan?ec, member of the HDZ Presidency, resigned as deputy prime minister and minister of the economy following allegations of corruption. On 3 January 2010, Ivo Sanader announced he was returning to active politics, saying it was a mistake he ever left.
