There are three things to do.... besides learning how to spell """DUH"""!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1---Get a good firewall or port locking program so all 65,000 ports on your computer are LOCKED. 2---Go into the set-up on your Microsoft windows explorer AND TURN SCRIPTING OFF OFF OFF OFF OFF..... 3---Pay for an anonymous service [there are lots of them] so you can go to ANY web site on planet earth and you will never have to worry about getting a Trojan or virus. Click it and a trojan will be downloaded to your TIF. IOW, I'm not talking about the gibberish but about what you get if you click the URL. - -- dadiOH _____________________________ dadiOH's dandies v3.0... ...a help file of info about MP3s, recording from LP/cassette and tips & tricks on this and that. What's a java cookie? (hint: there's no such thing.) A cookie is a cookie. > IF YOU HAVE > SCRIPTING ENABLED on your computer you will > have a back door Trojan on your hard drive. What sort of scripting? Javascript? Are you talking about activeX? activeX is a real threat. Download spyware blaster: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html this will block much activeX spyware before it even gets installed. Also try this: http://www.safer-networking.org/ .. it searches your harddrive for spyware that has already been installed. alex ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Apr 2004 09:04:00 -0500 From: "Jorge" Subject: Re: My busty neighbour 9249 AND BACK DOOR TROJANS > dadiOH is 100 percent correct...about half of the > spam web sites will pick up your IP address [this > is the internet equivalent of your personal address, > it's a number that identifies your computers location] > They will then drop off a java cookie. I didn't see the original post, it got killed by Giganews's cancelbot. But however these sites can use Microsoft's *ActiveX* scripting to sneek whatever trojan, virus, worm, backdoor, or malware onto you're computer thru MSIE as a drive-by download. They do NOT use Sun's Java or javascript. And a 'cookie' is "A message given to a Web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server." http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/c/cookie.html BTW I do NOT use MSIE, I use only use Opera. And yes I do have anti-virus and a firewall. - -- Michael Turner Email (ROT13) zvxr.gheare1963@ivetva.arg ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Apr 2004 10:50:46 -0400 From: "dadiOH" Subject: Re: My busty neighbour 9249 AND BACK DOOR TROJANS michael turner wrote: > "java cookie" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
