Jackson Browne will close his current 21 date tour with a solo acoustic set here in Elmer. Reports from the road have been glowing. Some fans who caught earlier shows are planning to make the Appel Farm date also! Jonatha Brooke will be appearing with her band. She's been having a great year and is looking forward to returning to the Festival. Grey Eye Glances have a new album coming out in June. They will debut some new material on the Meadow Stage at 4PM. Also with an album on the way are 4 Way Street. They will have copies of an advance 5 song sampler for sale at the Festival Record Booth. It's going to be a wonderful family event. My question is... "Why doesn't Fruvous put out a record during the hiatus?" I'm not talking about going into the studio and producing something newthat would defeat the purpose of a hiatus. I'm talking about remastering existing material for release. I would guess that that would take minimal involvement by the band AND it would keep Moxy Fruvous on the radio and sustain interest in the band during this long break. I've got to think that a second live record would be the easiest thing to do, followed by alternate/unused versions of songs, possibly an all the Fruhead record or even live covers. Surely the vault must be full of high quality live recording and out takes. Of course, this comes from the perspective of a working stiffno work, no money. AFAIK, live albums traditionally only sell to quite hard core fans of the band in question (I don't have figures, I'm just sure I heard that somewhere) and it's quite obvious that only real fans are going to pick up a disc of alternate takes. It is surprising that they haven't done *something* by now, perhaps they're just enjoying not living within a few feet of each other all the time now! ;-) Ross ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Jun 2002 08:53:04 EDT From: StarflashJ@aol.com Subject: Re: Why doesn't Fruvous... I've heard it referred to as both a general "hiatus" and specifically as a "touring hiatus." I also saw, in an interview with one of them, I think, that they are still getting together regularly - if for no other reason than to just keep themselves from getting too far detatched from things so when/if they do come back, they'll be able to pick up much more quickly, rather than having to completely relearn everything they spent 8 years developing and refining. - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= *** Usenet.com - The #1 Usenet Newsgroup Service on The Planet! *** http://www.usenet.com Unlimited Download - 19 Seperate Servers - 90,000 groups - Uncensored - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Jun 2002 07:42:16 GMT From: "Todd Evans" Subject: Re: Why doesn't Fruvous...
