I hope it's very similar when > Jian comes to > Chicago and plays Schubas. Well, he played the same setlist, I believe, at the Iron Horse last night. Everything on the EP, Sad Girl, IWHO, his September 11 song, and that "Dudes Carrying Stuff" song or whatever. A most enjoyable show. His backup band ("2 other brown guys and a white guy") is tight and good. The guitar player, Justin, wields a mean wa-wa pedal. Jian's doumbek solo on ..uh..some song was great, very passionate and energetic. Martina sounded good too, and on her last song, I could have sworn it was Dolly Parton singing (note: this is not a slag against either Martina or Dolly. They both have high sweet sopranos.) Harry Keates (he of the Nields' "Come On In And Play" video CD) was there videotaping, so I hope it comes out well and he releases it in some format. - --Adam adamh1@mediaone.net ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Oct 2001 22:57:58 EDT From: SugarFly26@aol.com Subject: Re: Jian at the IH 10/26/01 ::Cry:: I missed Jian at the Iron Horse? ::frown frown frown:: Plus I'm gonna miss the Cruxshadows in CT and TMBG!
