It was a short set, and the crowd wasn't very large. Jonathan wore a Fruvous T-shirt. About half way through the set, DaVinci's Notebook asked, "Who out there is a Moxy Fruvous fan?" And we cheered. It was fun. As far as I know, platinum-record status in Canada is given at 100,000 copies sold. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Mar 2001 16:40:04 -0800 From: Josh Woodward Subject: Re: >>JIAN GHOMESHI (from MOXY FRUVOUS) @ Zaphod Beeblebrox- May4/2001<< On Tue, Mar 13, 2001 at 12:07:37AM +0000, Eric wrote: > In article <98jmd1$srv$1@freenet9.carleton.ca>, bw049@FreeNet.Carleton.CA (Eugene Haslam) wrote: > >JIAN GHOMESHI is best known as a lead singer, drummer and songwriter in the > >multi-platinum selling folk-rock group MOXY FRUVOUS. > > Fruvous is multi-platinum? I believe "Bargainville" is the only Fru-album to go platinum, but if the Canadian sales of the rest of B'ville combined with the sales of the other albums tops 100,000, that adds up to multi-platinum, I suppose, though I prefer to use platinum to refer to sales of an individual album, not the sum of a band's output... Regardless, assuming the original post was from a promoter of some sort...well, promoters aren't really known for consistently sticking to the truth. :-) Kind of like when the Special Goodness showed up at a gig, only to learn that the promoter had plastered "Pat and Mikey from Weezer! Playing all your favorite Weezer hits!" fliers everywhere. :D - -Adam On Tue, 13 Mar 2001 00:07:37 GMT, lightman@tmbg.IHATESPAME.org (Eric) wrote: >Fruvous is multi-platinum?
