And I said I wouldn't pay more than $100 to see Jesus Christ himself. It was really cool, especially considering that the game is being played in Colorado. Radio-friendly (if that matters to you)? More than ever. But it >just didn't inspire me. I haven't read the rest of the posts on this, but I gotta agree with this one. I think that Thornhill contains some of the best *and* a little of the of the... uh... un-best (heh) as far as songwriting is concerned, but the reason I don't listen to it that often is pretty much the production work. Now, I know there are some Don Dixon lovers out there, and I don't want to get hackles raised, but I think his production of, in particular, Half as Much and IWHO is pretty shoddy. IWHO sounds so much fuller and prettier live and I don't think any of it was captured properly on the disc, and HaM was slowed down to a tempo that only makes it half as GOOD as its live counterpart... and tempos (or speed) of tunes will generally change from live to record, but I think the ballads were picked up enough and the fun pop songs were slowed down enough it kind of feels like you're going the same pace throughout major chunks of the album. Now that really works as you're getting towards the album, but right at the beginning, it makes me feel uncomfortable a bit. I think they'd have been better off producing themselves on that or going back to anyone they'd worked with in the past. But if they ever wanted to spend bucks on a producer again, hell, they should get Don Was. :):):) Angel Satan#81 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Feb 2001 02:51:54 GMT From: brent_miller@my-deja.com Subject: FruCon4 shirt shipping info UPDATE: The shirts are printed!
