You've made my day by reminding me of those guys. >I'm >off to get another CD of theirs now. Jian says "you can never get enough >banjo" I say "you can never get enough bagpipe." Murray says "sadly, you >can get enough banjo." Notice, he never says "you can get enough bagpipe." Wow, I was surprised to see the Battlefield Band mentioned too! I first heard them on CBC...CBC used to be *really* cool and have this hour long show every saturday at 4pm, that broadcasted live music from Pier 21 in Halifax. It was called the Nova Scotia Kitchen Party and the Battlefield Band (although from Old Scotia :)) was a guest one week. I still have the tape I recorded. Love their rendition of Rantin' Rovin' Robin. Shawna ps: Man, I miss the Nova Scotia Kitchen Party...guess it's about time to write letters to the CBC again...The last show in the series was the best--worldwide singalong of Barrett's Privateers...yum... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ shawna@fumblers.com AIM: Fumblefly fumbler\passenger\fruhead\headliner\canmuser **dancing around the handbasket**wink** - --------------------------------------------------------- "everybody looks more or less like a barbie doll... ...if that's your point of reference..." -a.g. - --------------------------------------------------------- *Are you a Michaela Foster Marsh fan? It's got some of the best songs (to me) and I think this is the album that Fruvous is on a track...or maybe it's BNL? Double Live is also really good. Everybody thanks for posting stuff! I'm going to order a couple of things from HMV tomorrow. Thanks everybody, for all the great suggestions. These ought to keep me busy and out of trouble for a while! I've been stuck in a 60's mode for the last week--Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Buffy Sainte-Marie, etc. Now I guess it's time to come back to the present. A must for anyone interested in songwriting. Roger Waters - Bootleg recording from this summer's solo tour. I spent some wonderful parts of my summer vacation at Roger's west coast shows and I've been reliving those moments through these CD's. The Toll - The Price of Progression - I really miss this band.
