The best photo we have to date, is the Thornhill promo photo http://www.fruvous.com/albmpics/th-promo.jpg BUT, out of respect for the photographer and his copyright, we could not use that picture without first contacting and/or reimbursing the photographer for it's use. The other problem with that photo is that Jian now has a different haircut, Mike (I think) has a variation on his facial hair and Dave now has a goatee. Ideally, we are looking for an image taken this year. A casual photo that reveals a little little personality too. A tall order on such short notice. For each of the four photo we use, we will give away a FruCon4 shirt, postage paid by us and a photo credit on the washing instructions. But, "you must have taken the photo" and give us permission to use the photo. That's just our first thoughts. Any suggestions? I disagree completely. The drugs, the music and the clothing may be what most people identify with the hippies, but those are surface qualities that are empty in and of themselves. Those things were outward expressions of the questioning of traditional roles and values. Without the social consciousness as a driving force, the long haired stoner is just that, a long haired stoner, regardless of what he's driving or listening to. The fact that people think the hippie experience is all about the drugs and such is an indication that the greater point was missed. Wow, look what I've started with my mock hippie-bashing. Didn't mean to offend. People think I am a skinhead because of the way I look. I know appearances aren't everything, but aren't generalizations fun? They make the world go 'round. Hippie-at-heart or Neo-nazi clan member? You decide!
