(21st century digital boy, bad religion) and I always thought it would make me smarter, but its only made me harder (near wild heaven, REM) open up your lovin' arms watch out here I come (you spin me, dead or alive) another day, I call and never speak, and you would 'nothing's changed at all', and i can't feel much hope for anything, if I won't be there to catch you if you fall (something's always wrong, toad the wet sproket) sometimes I get so angry with the simple lives they lead, and the shepard's smile seems to confirm my fears. They've never questioned anything, They've never disagreed Sometimes I think they must have wool in their ears (sheep, the housemartins) I think this harbour town is wasted and sinking fast (hello city, BNL) Why did they send her over anyone else? How should I react? These things happen to other people They don't happen at all, in fact (she's an angel, TMBG) could I have been anyone other than me? (dancing nancies, DMB) and I understand, you've come to shake my hand. (the winner takes it all, ABBA) I wish I could be, who you wanted, all the time. (fake plastic trees, Radiohead) say goodbye, lose your friends, make them go, don't need them around (happier, guster) see the young man sitting in the old man's bar, waiting for his turn to die. (broadway, goo goo dolls) the devil's not in the details, no the devil is in my pants, its shoot first, appologize later, another quick end to a short shit romance. (everything falls apart, dog's eye view) they say "don't take his name in vain", no never take his name in vain, why always his? won't someone explain to me? I think we should bring him in for questioning. (ship name frank, spirit of the west) someday, I won't be so lonely, and I'll walk on water every chance I get. (time and time again, counting crows) ..carry on, carry on, 'cause nothing really matters (bohemian rhapsody, queen) oh I could go on and on and on and on... but I won't. Follow the Road - If you haven't heard the 10/30/98 performance of it, you need to. 2. King of Spain - because it's what introduced me to the band, and honestly, I'm not *always* ready to listen to songs with really deep meaning. 3. Horseshoes - because, when the guys hit the end note live, it really, really sounds incredible. 4. Michigan Militia - because, every time I hear it live, *everyone* jumps up and goes fscking nuts, which is just cool. 5. The Drinking Song - because it's one of the most powerful songs I've heard. Favorite 5 covers, though it wasn't asked: 1. Poor Napoleon - I still owe Jian for taking my request for this at the House of Blues show. 2. Dancing Queen Medley - the only way I can listen to this song. 3. Psycho Killer - no matter how many times I hear it... 4. Message - without a doubt 5. Early Morning Rain - heard this at Clearwater last year, I feel lucky for that. - - A.P. ------------------------------ Date: 27 Jul 2000 02:21:50 GMT From: spychicr@aol.compoot (RAI-- Random Access Insanity) Subject: Re: Top 5 Fruvous Songs <> And my top five favourites today are... So, like, they weren't left with a lot. ;) As for the Gospel Wake Up Hour, this workshp[ had me *really* alarmed.
