I came across this the other day and totally cracked up. Almost as funny were the album blurbs, where people can compare CDs of one band to other CDs by other artists: Thornhill is compared to some James Bond compilation, and YWGTTM is compared to just about everything ever released by...JEWEL!! Of course, the one volunteer at the "gate" (who was one of the two later shooing people off the "Chatham" sod) should've been warned a bit by Michelle and my reactions to the fact that we weren't allowed on the grass. We were nice, but indicated that this was definitely *not* a normal situation for a Fruvous show. You have to wonder though about the 'logic' of placing new sod in front of a stage where 4 hrs of music will be happening each night for *13* nights.. You'd think that they'd been doing this festival long enough to know better - especially since the fireworks were going to be a mere two days later (Wed night). If you've never been there, the fireworks are THE highlight of the Freedom Festival, and best seen on the Windsor side of the river. I bet they didn't even try to keep people off the sod *that* night! In the section entitled "Briefs... not boxers" (is that clever or what?), I read a little article talking about Alicia Silverstone's role in "Love's Labor Lost", which combines Shakespeare's play with a 1930s musical style. The bard must be rolling in his grave right now. Anyway, Silverstone's character was supposed to wear a lot of fur and feathers in the movie (perhaps to cover up bad acting). However, she informed the press that she has a definite problem with anything that comes from animals. She even flipped out when she saw a fake- not even a real one- sheep on the set. Quote: "Like, could you guys move that?" (Another thing I noticed was that every other word in her interview was "like".) I guess that underneath the serious, conscientious actress image Alicia is attempting to develop, she's still totally "Clueless". Lauren Seyler P.S. C'mon, you didn't relly expect me to pass up the opportunity for a bad pun, now did you? ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: 1 Jul 2000 09:45:23 -0700 From: Eddie Dinel Subject: Re: The Fifth Fruvous BBWMinors writes: > >First you get down on your knees, >Fiddle with your rosaries, >Bow your head in deep respect and >Genuflect!
