I sang along, silently: "Ou sont passee toutes nos nuits de reve? Aidez-moi a les retrouvez." I don't have anything to add to the review, but I do have an anecdote. In preface, let me note that, as an on-and-off lurker for the last couple of years, I recognize the names of many famous and infamous fruheads, but none of the visages. Before the concert, I was planning to meet some of my internet friends, who are also Frufans, in Max's Opera Cafe, a rather well-known place near the Opera house. However, I had never been there, and had not gotten complete directions, and knew only that it was on or near Van Ness and somewhere in the vicinity of the Opera. So when I saw a young and hip-looking couple strolling down Van Ness, I thought "I'll bet they know", and accosted them. Alas, they did not know, but they were pretty sure of the direction it was in, and, thanking them, I set off in that direction, which was, indeed, the correct one. Later, in the GAMH, a member of my party, who has more acquaintance than I with the social facets of the Fruniverse, pointed out a figure stage Murray, and said, "That's Taylor of the Tacky Hawaiian Shirt." And he was pointing at my earlier benefactor, he of the young and hip-looking couple. So let it be known throughout Frudom that Taylor of the Tacky Hawaiian Shirt is the sort of person who not only gives directions to random strangers, but gives correct and useful directions to random strangers, and thereby helps said random strangers get to the Frushow on time. - --Boo ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 May 2000 21:33:43 -0700 (PDT) From: kyla Subject: Re: San Fran Show Review 5/25 - --- Taylor Nelson wrote: > And this really has to be one of the greatest shows I've been to… oh yeah! ive only been to two others and this was the most awesome of all! the > opener, Nicolle Hampton. However, I wondered why > they're > still referencing Yeltsin when Vladimir Putin is president of Russia > now. i think it was also around now that mike(?) made the comment 'theres a seersucker born every minute.' this concert was amazing, gamh is a wonderful venue. i had to leave before the lads came out (my dad wanted us to be alive at school today)but i had brought aero bars for them and gave them to my friend who was staying to give to them. and one question: who was it that was wearing the canadian girls kick ass shirt, and where did she get it? i love it! during ywggtm mike and jian were doing their little doo-doo-doo-dah part and for a little while they pretended they were playing trombones (i play one too!) and later the mikes became trumpets... very cool. after that song murray says that he always likes it when these two songs are after one another on the setlist, because then it reads moon river, and they started playing something i didnt recognise at all, im assuming it was maybe a song called moon river? any way, it was really cool. in green eggs and ham when mike did his sixth sense little kid thing, he told dave 'I talk to dead people... and grandma says you still owe her $25.' this concert was awesome. i picked up a c album, plus four others for my friends who couldnt come to the show, so today we're all walking around school, grooving to the cd. it was so cool. i love the album, too... after school today our band director asked us if my dad (who drove us, cuz he likes moxy too. introduced them to me, as a matter of fact) had fun at the concert too. we all said of course, but he didn't believe us. anyway, we don't even like him so it doesn't matter. today my friend heather (who we bought a c album for, cuz her parents made her go see beethoven instead, not that i am saying anything against classical music- i like it. but i prefer moxy) had her current bio teacher and ours of last year, mr. macdonald, listen to mitosis waltz. we have heard that he liked it better than entropy, which we have been assigned to make our physics teacher next year listen too. anyway, i wrote most of this up during school today, i was too exhausted when i got home (i had been dancing all the concert, plus a two-hour choir rehearsal before) and now it is reduced so that i won't repeat what taylor said. i loved this show!!! - --kyla ===== AIM: canadan2 ICQ: 37135028 ?:^)marion sez: hi everyone! i miss u cedric! Jian's set list, at least, had "Believe" listed only as "Cher". *snort* Buying the C album and listening to it raises a question in my mind. How many of the 18+-stamps-on-Fruhead-Card crowd ever got their songs? Last I checked (admittedly this was a while ago, but it was still a coupla years after the Fruhead Card ended), no one had gotten one, but the liner notes to 'C' imply that "Jared (The Wild Boy)" (Jared Irish, is this you?) is one of a group of such songs.
