Speaking under terms of total hearsay... I believe I heard that there are coupons available at local area McDonalds for buy-one-get-one-free admissions. Also, check with people who own Entertainment/Dine-A-Mate books. In many editions, there are buy-one-get-one-free coupons for Six Flags. (Buffalo edition for sure, others, unknown.) Also, (discounted?) tickets may be purchased at area Tops, and Wilson Farms stores. (that is a fact.) As for me, I'm going in on a family of season passes, because I will be going back there again sometime... In the Gusto (Buffalo's Art and Entertainment local guide published each Friday in the news) there was a full page ad announcing that the first three weekends were buy one get one free weekends, no matter where purchased. Since a regular admission is $29.99, buy one get one makes it $14.99 (approx) for one person. As for the no rides-just concert thing. Darien Lake has never let anyone in the park on a discounted ticket like that. Since you have to pay and it is a Saturday you might as well come and enjoy some of the coasters Darien Lake has (5 I believe). Lastly, ON the DL site it lists the park as only being open until 8pm. If Fruvous goes on at 7pm will they only play for an hour? Just a little food for thought. I lied, now really lastly, Ron Hawkins plays the same type of venue (we're thinking they added a midway stage - they've made a lot of changes this year) the next day!
