Fruvous' "set" in '98 was by far the best I've EVER seen from Fruvous. And that's saying a lot. Hey HEY!!! So I got to see Mike Errico again tonight and he mentioned that among some reaaally great groups/people that he'll be opening for in the near future - Moxy Fruvous was one of them. I'm not sure what shows or where but I will say this... if you're not gonna go to see Fruvous (?) - - go to see Mike. The big pyramid hotel in Vegas? yup, the same one! I still have many fond memories of seeing every show of their four-week stand there, opening for Siegfried & Roy. This was, of course, back in the early-days when the lineup included Jian, Mike, Murray, and Simba. in a rare January 1991 interview from the Vegas Gazette, Jian said: "letting Simba go was the hardest thing we've ever had to do; he would get increasingly agitated on long road-trips, and we'd always get funny looks when asking for our post-concert rider to include hummice, fruit, and a freshly-slaughtered gazelle." ~~~ I was actually referring to the show at the Luxor Hotel in Ottawa in august '98, after the first night of the Ottawa folk-fest; my absolute favourite for several reasons: 1.) totally impromptu setlist 2.) Vance :D 3.) covers galore. it was probably that night alone that cemented my fanhood, being totally awestruck start to finish as I realized "wow... they really like Bowie... and Vance... and Bowie... and Beck... and Dylan... and Bowie... and Bowie..." our reviews of which can be found at: http://www.fruvous.com/98rev/980828.html ~MikeWood - --------- "Otto?
