In addition to that (I don't remember if FDC says this or not), I'm sure you could get tix for Pearl Street at the same number that we call for the Iron Horse tix: 1-800-THE-TICK. The two venues are managed (owned?) by the same people. - -v - -------- Vika Zafrin -------- vika@attglobal.net -------- http://www.brown.edu/Research/Decameron "Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon." ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Mar 2000 12:12:05 GMT From: vika@attglobal.net (Vika Zafrin) Subject: Re: little trickier: Fruvous or Spain? Spain. Oh, you want a reason? :) (N.B.: I could write a book on this. I'll spare you.) Being abroad, especially (forgive me) for an American, whose idea of close-abroad contains only two countries (as opposed to a European, who can visit 3 in a weekend in his/her car), is an un-substitute-able experience. There will be other chances to go to Spain? Perhaps, depends on the unexpected turns your life will undoubtedly take in the next 5-10 years. Don't miss this opportunity, or any opportunity to travel abroad, when it presents itself to you. (Also, being younger rather than older, you'd be more likely to want to spend as little money as absolutely possible, and thus jump through hoops, stay in youth hostels which usually have an upper age limit, meet amazing people and go waaaaay off the beaten touristy path.) Go to Spain, if you don't want to force me to write you a personal book on why you should. ;) - -v - -------- Vika Zafrin -------- vika@attglobal.net -------- http://www.brown.edu/Research/Decameron "Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon." ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Mar 2000 09:21:26 -0500 From: "Kate Leahy" Subject: Re: I Have Questions... >OK, I need some help on the whole "Chia Pets" thing. That's a different band. Mike, Murray, and Jian were the Chia Pets in college. They played weddings and bar mitzvahs and things, but they never recorded an album. I wouldn't be surprised if they played that song, though :). - --Kate - -- Kate Leahy kleahy@loyola.edu katiewow@fruhead.com "And in all the idiots I see Thoughtless men casting doubts on me . . . Oh yeah, and in case you haven't already, I urge you to read the newsgroup FAQ. BUT. As of this afternoon, FHDC is well into the red ink. And given the @1700 Fruheads registered there, that's something I find ridiculous, and a little sad. If everyone sent its hard-working webmaster just a buck or two to defray costs, that would keep it running for a good long time. (like, YEARS.) If you use FHDC -- if you're on the wall a few hours each week (day?!), if you've got pages there, if it's helped you find reduced-rate Fruspace or hitch a ride to a show -- *please* make a donation. It's been a boon (and heaps of fun) to lots of people, and Josh shouldn't have to swallow all the costs involved. /soapbox - -- Lori ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.fruhead.com/users/Lori/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Mar 2000 01:35:24 GMT From: =?iso-8859-1?q?kyla?= Subject: Re: Was Re: Prom or Fruvous, now Grad School - --- Princess wrote: > >To what extent would the possibility of frequent concerts sway your > own > >choice of school? > > I like to think that living on the left coast, in a land fruvous > doesn't > frequent often, I get that much more enjoyment out of a show knowing > it will be > a while until I see them again. I agree... i'm only a high school sophomore but out guidance counselors are asking us where we want to go to school and what we want to major in (neither of which I am sure about) but my decision of location of schools is only undecided because i can't decide whether i like left-coast concerts, where there aren't too many people and if you like the band a lot it's really easy to land a seat about 10 feet from the stage, or east-coast concerts, where (according to what i've heard) the concerts are big and it's more like a real concert (with seats for the audience, etc) than just the informal come-and-listen-to-us-entertain-you thing that i am now used to, even if they are less often. anyway, that's my little rant for now. - --kyla ===== AIM: canadan2 ICQ: 37135028 ?:^) marion sez: hi everyone! we miss u cedric! the clarinet is an instrument, the only worse of which is two. - ---ambrose bierce--- (that one's for you, heather!)__________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
