I've heard nothing, but the general feeling I have about it is that it'll probably be recorded early next year and released next summer. No. Last time they played it (and thoroughly trashed it - uck) was at the 1999 Lee's Palace show. I think they've played it live 3 times and I'm guessing it's gone the way of Heatseeker Boy and Sleepy Drinker. The first time they played it in Buffalo in November of 1998 was really really cool though *grin* Damn this internet community that knows every song they've ever did! Muhauhuahua! Seriously, it's probably very hard for them to stop playing songs they are testing out because we know all and propagate so much info so quickly. Maybe stuff will come back later or maybe it won't. I still want to hear Heatseeker Boy *Grin*. > Thanks for any help anybody can give. I love it in that final slot. It trails off so well at the end and it's calming and wow, it just works. 2) My Poor Generation should be an excellent closer. It's the only Fruvous song that I can think of that's in an anthem style and it's so strong and well done that it should be a perfect closer. Honestly, I think the only thing keeping it from being an excellent closer is stubborn fans wanting their damn Drinking Song. > [1] Frankly I say thank god to that! Much as I like the song, I have > heard it too many times (and especially too many times at the end). I > find myself crossing my fingers every show now, hoping that they WON't > end with that one Well, I don't go that far. But I used to relish in the moment in the Drinking Song "saw some far places" because I'd look around or think around and see Zard[1] and realize I'm in Northampton MA[2] and that would just be sooo cool all at once. Honestly, now maybe it's just too old hat. I like the song. It's a nice closer. I still get the warm feeling at "saw some far places" that I've always gotten. But mostly with the Drinking Song, I'm happy when the crowd gets into it a lot. Quite frankly, the band really needs to work on their encore selection. It needs to be more tailored to the specific show. But thats a whole nother gripe entirely. - Chad [1] Or Loren or Laurie or Chris or Heatherrr or any of another myriad of totally wonderful people that I care for a lot all because of this crazy band. You have to drop by the channel to get the ftp info. See http://ttc.corrupt.net for details on how to find us, what vqf's are, and ftp rules/guidelines. (Read these before you try to use it, to avoid getting yourself banned from the ftp.) If you can't figure out how to find the channel, email me. I buy on average 1 per week. So I guess I have around 850 CD's, but that doesn't count bootleg's of live shows, that's just store bought CD's. (I've only got a handful of Moxy live CD's, but I am proud to have INXS's last concert in Vancouver, and it turned out sooooo good!) My parents also have a jukebox that plays 45's, so on occasion I search out old record stores and see what's available. Mike aka Racer aka RacerMike , and no, I haven't seen Speed Racer. Sorry, just had to interject that I watched "The Blues Brothers" this weekend (for the zillionth time) on Much More Music, inwhich Cab does a stellar rendition of his hit number as an opener for the title band. Only this time, I watched it with my girlfriend, who didn't "get it". "It's just ridiculous!" she said, particularly about what many consider the greatest car chase of all time. What's up with that? But wait! You've forgotten about the "concert on the roof" where they played atop the Apple recording studios to pleasantly surprised fans and disgruntled shopkeepers below. Well, this is a tale of the trials & tribulations of being a nomad/gypsy: I used to own about 40-50 records, but when I left this country 12 years ago for the big US of A I left them with my boyfriends sister(later my sister-in-law) & have no idea where she (or he for that matter) is now. So I reckon they're a gonner! Tapes I would reckon about 150. However they are sitting in boxes in my sisters attic in NJ, many thousands of miles from me. I do currently have about 10 with me, including 1 Moxy Fruvous mix, & 3taped shows. As for CD's: in my sisters attic, about 50. Here with me, 30. I'm amazed how easy it is to survive without them! On the other hand, all these posts about guilty pleasures have featured a lot of artists I have in my sisters attic (on tape of course) & it's been driving me nutty that I can't just put them on to reminiss over!
