We did this in chem/physics: put a peep (or a part of a peep--like the head) in the tube of a syringe, then change the air pressure by moving the stopper and watch the peep grow or shrink. My roommate and I also did experiments on Peeps last year. A peep will go stale(r) if you leave it sitting on the window ledge for a month. The coloring will also fade, so if you are afraid of the day-glo Peep, you can leave it sitting on your window sill for a month and it will be a color fit for consumption. Although, it might be a tad stale. Betsy PS. I have a good reason for asking. Surrrre you do... ;)! Well, all we have here is just grad for grade 12's. However it's the MAJOR social event of the year...kinda like the passing of the torch from the grade 12's to the grade 11's (although knowing my class this may be a little dangerous :)) Some of the smaller schools have a grade 9 grad but that's only because in grade 10 they have to come to our school. Yeah, grad...where people like me just hang around the sidelines talking while there is some drunken fool out on the dance floor hitting on all the teachers. Hmmmm well maybe my grad next year will be different. I'm hoping for black, orange, and metallic purple colours with MPG as the grad song but I'm not getting my hopes up. I probably won't even have an escort, even if we can get our act together!! :) Bitter (yet hopeful) in northern AB.... - --- Cara Kozack "It's a reference to a _____ that you've never even heard of by\in a _____ that you probably don't even like." Although, it might be a tad stale. Hmmmm, I've never heard of Peeps before this but they certainly look interesting...and tasty!! :) And I've done the same experiment before, but with plain coloured marshmellows. It's really neat if you've never seen it before, if you put them in a vaccum they grow (I think because of the chemical structure of the sucrose molecules that make it up have a tendancy to rip apart) and then when you let the air back in the pressure causes them to shrink to a size smaller than before!! Same thing if you put them in a microwave for 30 seconds then in the freezer for a few hours (and then they get nice and crystalized without being stale!!) - -- Cara Kozack "It's a reference to a _____ that you've never even heard of by\in a _____ that you probably don't even like." Snore, which are long ropes of caramel candy in a package decorated with a cute little elephant wearing a baseball cap. It's from Denmark or something, and they used to sell it at school. No one but my friends and I would buy it. 2. Tangy Bones (not sure if that's the real name), which are Sweet Tart-like confections made in the shape of bones and skulls. Perfect for Halloween! 3. Rubber chicken lollipops! OK, that's enough out of me.
