Oh my god, I'm so amazed that other people have heard of this album! It's actually by a band named Collider. They're incredible! Being that I love all things happy, hippy and Moxy-like, Collider came as a complete surprise to me...one of my friends had their prior album, called Blowing Shit Up, which they gave me to while I was in college and I've been a fan ever since. They even played recently at Acme Underground in NYC and the show was incredible! They're similar to Moxy in their Bargainville days. I don't know what was up with that creepy guy in a bar who you met, Jamie, but the guys in Collider are great. Their lead singer and keyboardist, Jed, has a bald head like one Moxy- ite we know and love, yet has the singing abilities of Jian...and the guitarist, Sean, is quite a cutie, usually choosing to play in shiny leather pants. They're hysterical. My personal favorites are a song called "Magnetic North" off Blowing Shit Up and a slow ballad, Ready for the World, from Physics. You should check out their website and get the album...www.collider.com. They may not be Canadian, but they'll do just fine until Moxy's in town. Let me know what you think of the album once you get it! Cheers, Stephanie, who is oh so happy because she saw Kids in the Hall on stage tonight!!! The FruCon schedule has been finalized! NOTE ABOUT FINANCES: A note about the Frucon admission fees: The Frucon organizing committee has tried hard to keep the costs of the Con down so that admission fees are low. Unlike concert venues, we don't have a bar or food concessions to subsidize entry fees, nor do we own a hall in which to hold the event. The CDN$15 (or $12 if you pre-registered) admission price partly defrays the actual expenses of the Con, the biggest of which is the hotel charge for the space. Other costs include sound equipment rental, printing of programs, souvenir ID tags and signs. Proceeds from the raffle also help pay for these. Also, volunteers will be contacted soon! Sit tight! There are still some spots left for the big show! If you've ever wanted to get up there and "get it done", here's your big chance! Just make sure your act (solo or group) is Moxy Fruvous-related, and send us an email to mcee2k@yahoo.com with your name and the name of the song you'd like to perform live at Frucon! And don't forget to *preregister* for the event!
