After our planned site was destroyed by the evils of computer problems... I had to share the vision!! In early November Leah Bender and I had a conversation which spawned the creative genius which is Chef Jian's Fudge Factory. Be warned: this is not one of those things that makes sense!! For some odd reason (perhaps the 7 straight hours online sustained only by everyone's favorite chocolatey friend?) we thought it was a really cool idea... Cool enough that me, Maria S. and another fruhead brought a chef's hat to a concert and made the lads put them on for pictures...so now I have pics of every lad and Tobey except Murray (he didn't come out after the concert) in a chef's hat holding a wooden spoon. Very cute :-) But, anyways, an empire (we had plans for Chef Mike's Pie Parade, and various food sites for the other lads, also one for Tobey and Cal, and plans to volunteer at local food kitchens to donate the goods...) has fallen, and I just felt like sharing... - -Katie (whose brain is on autopilot since her basketball game......) > > > > > ------------------------------ Date: 25 Jan 2000 01:25:47 GMT From: leaben@aol.comBender (Leah Bender) Subject: Re: Nickelodeon Shows >I also remember watching the original Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego How about Ghostwriter? She got a AA cut in the 200 free, and we got to the pool just as she was getting out. I even left work early and everything. Now she is the proud owner of the 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1650 freestyle cuts. The bad news is that she came in 4th when she got her cut. This really is a tough competition area. Three pool records were broken by the same girl tonight and they were old records. Okay, back to the real world Cheese Flan 1/2 cup sugar 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz) 1 8oz package of cream cheese 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla Preheat oven to 400. Carmelize sugar in loaf pan. (15-20 min). In blender combine milk, eggs, cream cheese, and vanilla. Pour mixture into loaf pan after sugar is carmelized. Put loaf pan inside a roasting pan (9x13) with 1/2 inch water. [this is so important, i'm going to use proper capitalization...] Hello, Newsgroupies! What are you doing this Tuesday night from 8-10 pm? Watching Buffy & Angel? I think not... Instead, fire up your RealPlayers and catch the debut of my *radio show*, the Eclectic Cafe. Basically it's just an excuse for me to flaunt my CD collection and play for you all the music I love (and that many of you love, too), but which never gets heard on commercial radio. I'd classify most of what I'll play as alterna-folk-rock, but basically it'll be a bit of everything. (I've attached a list of artists below.) The best part is, any of *you* can listen over your computer! Just point your browser to http://www.broadcast.com/radio/college/wybcam/ and follow the instructions. If you can't listen this Tuesday, I'll be playing my show *every* Tuesday from 8-10 pm through the end of the semester. Thanks a lot--your support means the world to me! I was at one from 1974 until 1982 and there wasn't even a TV anywhere in the place. We went on *tons* of field trips esp. during the summer from swimming twice a week, to going to farms, the county fair, to museums etc. Actually, I went more places there than I did with my parents who worked full time when I was growing up. I went after school and all day during the summer. The day care I went to wasn't at some woman's house either, it was like some of the ones today - - run like a school in a building with a playground. My finest memories are from being there. My mom had one of those guilty mother consciences about putting me in day care so much - but to me I don't think she made a mistake, since I had the best time. :) And look how *I* turned out! *laughs* Shut up everyone! ;D Christine. **where the hell is my sig?** ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V4 #42 *******************************************
