It was after Rocky Horror, so it was me, my best friend Erin, my friend Mike who I've known for about a year, and Kenny and Dave, who I've known since the summer. Dave and I were at the bar talking, and I mentioned Moxy Fruvous, and he said he'd never heard of them. I ended up singing Drinking Song for him. (and in my inebrieted state, forgetting the last verse!) He thought it was gorgeous, and the conversation went on to other things. Last night, Dave and I had about 3 hours to kill before we went to see Fantasia2000 (see it, it's wonderful!). So we wandered over to the Tower records across the street, and I walked directly to the Ms. When I showed him a Fruvous CD, he says, "Oh! I love Moxy Fruvous!!!" "Huh?" I said, "You said you didn't know them the last time I asked." "Oh, I asked Eric (the bartender at said bar) and he played them for me, I know who they are now." So the evening went on. We were waiting on line to get into the theater, and I had a mix tape with me that has TDS on it. I played it for him, and he immediately started laughing. "Oh my god, Jill this is so funny!" "Whaaaa...?" "I was in this Irish pub in Toronto singing drinking songs, and this song came on! The band did a cover of this!" It was really, really funny. Needless to say, he now knows who Moxy Fruvous is, and does indeed dig them. (Thank you for getting this far!!!) - -J writing a song called the Ballad of Jill V.
