Actually, I think that it was the folks at Good Day Philadelphia who didn't know the name of the album and the boys thought it would be cool not to correct them, also the host had some kind of trouble with pronouncing the name of the band...but it did remind them of how little main stream media attention they get. Additionally, Jian said something about Tony Orlando being at Good Day Philadelphia and really digging the band. (at which point my wife turned to me and said..."Isn't he dead?"...guess not). I have to agree with all the other comments that the show was really great...almost as good as the Upper Merion show and The Point show, just based on the amount of energy the audience had. However, within the energy there was a smattering of heckling which was really annoying (comments from the audience can be very cool, but you can easily cross the line to annoying). I must also agree that the girls tossing the glow-in-the-dark bracelets up (although not a "cool" thing to do anyway...I wouldn't want things flying at me while I'm trying to put on a show) picked a really bad time to throw them. I always think of the drinking song as a reflective song which seems to mean alot to the band...hurling things at the band during that moment seems rather disrespectful. All in all we had a really good time. Thanks to Lori who made a copy of the XPN World Cafe broadcast of the Point show for me. They were both first time concert-goers, and I didn't mind waving the things, but if they were going to THROW them, they could have at least done it after The Drinking Song. I was trying to tell them that, but they did it anyway, embarrassing me and I'm sure the people that were around me too. On a lighter note, we did get a thumbs-up from Murray at the begining of the show when we had the glowy things in a smiley face. Most of the time we were just wearing them. We also gave some of them to the little kids sitting in front of us. Don't think bad of my friends for doing that, please. They thought they were being cute. They were just too into the concert or something... I dunno. And about your comment on how much the song meant to them: I asked them why they did it, they said they thought it was like helicopters, as in "The helicopters whirl..." As you would think that they did it to be annoying or something, they thought that it was sweet. Maybe my friends just think of stuff differently than you or something. Truth to tell, I didn't even notice them, but then again I was off in my own little Drinking Song-induced reverie, and apparently they were more center-stage. But if in fact the necklets *were* tossed at the "helicopters" line, I can't see that being a hugely offensive distraction to the guys. It fits the playful, free-association qualities of the earlier verses of the song - -- and the audience participation bits -- far better than does the *drunken* singing-along at some other venues (which is why they don't play it so often in bars.) Something that wasn't noted: the Keswick became somewhat of an echo chamber on some songs, which I thought sounded AWESOME on Indy Day. As if Murray were harmonizing with himself. It was dark and slow and edgy and .... *swoon*. The effect didn't work nearly as well on Splatter Splatter, but I guess you can't have everything. I came pretty close this past week, though. :) - -- Lori **************** "Folks, let me tell you a story 'bout Middy the Moocher ....
