(until I get a better newsreader than deja, anyway.) What ho, fellow ammfers! (Hrm, that sounds like an insult of sorts...) Though you may not realise it, there is *absolutely nothing* about the presupposed FruCon3. Remember when it was mid-August 1998 and schemes for the love-rave-Fru-fest were a-plenty? What of now? What of FruCon3? Does tradition not demand that we hold another one? Cannot a maiden trapped in now-80 degrees southern Ohio dream of visiting the icy bounds of Toronto? Will the florid ranting end? Yes, it will. So what's going on? Frunique www.fruhead.com/users/Frunique And use IE, because Netscape doesn't like my page. I have my eighth graders last period. This means that they get away with a lot, all things considered, since I'm usually pretty pooped. Anyway, we're studying Duke Ellington and Jazz right now, and I asked them to name 3 songs by the Duke, right? And one of my kids says "Oh, something about Satan!" "Um, no, I don't think so." "No, it is! Something about Satan's... Doll!" and one of my other students pipes up with "Hello? That's SATIN Doll!" I just had to laugh, not only because "Satan's Doll" seems pretty funny to me, but because my kids put together the words "Satan and Satin"-- I obviously have little Mathesonites in my class. And, I played some more Thornhill for them today. We started discussing DJ's (via Benny Goodman) and then the record industry and then Indie music, and they asked to hear it. However, they were far more interested in *knowing* what my favorite band is, than *listening* to my favorite band. What can I say? Sorry for the babble, ciao, donna ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Sep 1999 22:50:15 -0400 From: Tonya Moore Subject: Minneapolis show for the record, no, i'm NOT the girl that got on stage with jian for the forty-leventh time, *i'm* the girl that gave them the jesse ventura doll. can't you guys keep us chicks straight? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Sep 1999 22:09:58 -0400 From: Megan Subject: Re: Stop the Insanity (or this MFDS thing is killing me) Well, Winnie da Fru aka Sara wrote: > ...maybe someone is collecting a masterlist for FDC? > I have a list that is mostly complete, I think.
