Well, we're [1] driving the 10 hours to BG. But, don't listen to us. We're just crazy Iowans who have this urge to spend money we don't have (or don't want to part with) and drive an insane amount of hours to go to a festival set for fruvous. Unlike other people who are saying that if you (we?) drive 10 hours, it should be at least for more than one show, I have to say I have school on Friday and Monday. As much as I'd like to miss those days, it's school. I have my priorities. [3] maria PS--[4] I have a keyboard that is fully functional, now. Now it doesn't take me five minutes to type sentences with "w"'s and "?"'s (among other things). Yay! [1] My mom, friend, and me. [2] [2] Okay, okay, I'm not personally driving, but I'll be doing so in spirit. At least I can stay awake, unlike my friend who falls asleep within the first ten minutes on the highway. [3] Priorities: Go to school whenever possible. Keep up on schoolwork. Try to convince my mom to take my friend and me to as many Frushows as possible on the weekends (that aren't age-restricted). Well, there's more than that, but they don't really have anything to do with this post, like this sentence. I'd consider driving to Los Angeles (8 hours away) if the situation made sense, but not much beyond that. It would take a heck of a reason to persuade me to drive to, say, Seattle (10 hours away). I'm hampered here by a) not being a driving freak (I'm waiting for personal teleportation devices), b) being a busy college student (sometimes you just can't escape schoolwork), and c) needing sleep (as in, I do not function if I don't get enough). Everything I've seen about if has indicated that it's about someone who keeps inviting disaster. The handing out of horseshoes, while it seems to make very little sense in real life, is a good metaphor. If you hand a horseshoe to someone over the age of 5[1], they'll toss it. That's what horseshoes are for. But this guy doesn't expect it. He's handing people horseshoes and seems surprised when they toss them. He's giving out opportunities to take advantage of him. Message. Not a clue. And asking Fruvous probably won't help much, since they didn't write it. Although they probably have some wacky interpretation of it themselves. :) [1] Some people under the age of 5 will toss the horseshoes, too, but not necessarily at the stake. Most will just throw it because it bores them. Children under 2 will probably try to eat it. - -- Lawrence Solomon * http://www.fruhead.com/users/zaph * zaph@fruhead.com "Just because you're floating doesn't mean * This space inadvertently you haven't drowned." -They Might Be Giants * left blank. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Sep 1999 11:09:23 -0400 From: Josh Woodward Subject: Fruhead.Com Announcement: AMMF Posting This is just a quick note for those who can't currently post to the newsgroup.
