I've heard that either Hopkins or GW is designing an entire Masters program around Emacs. I live even FARTHER north than Slave Lake (Which is really central Alberta) and EVERYONE says eh up here (but don't try to get anyone to admit it!). We don't have the mangling of the letter o in about but we definatly have a accent, kind of like a northern redneck. We do say hoser up here, and eavestroughs are a staple of out language. We are very English set up here however, when I mentioned that I would be taking French as a course over the summer I nearly was ambushed! We don't have that many natives up here (even though I live just 17 km south of the Chinchauga) and so that aspect of language is lost around here. The arctic circle is still 700 km away from here (although it does regularly get below -60 in winter) :-D I've only been north of the 60th parralel once for a week. However it was the best week of my life and the aroura borealis look MUCH better up there. I love playing shinny hockey, whenever I get the chance! However we get so much snow that it's hard to sweep off the dugout and our arena is rarely open. Do you think the power will stay on for the whole show this time? :) Smaller venues are great, though.
