Hmmm...well, for the most part people try to act cool and avoid school spirit at all costs (or at least claim to). But it does occassionally go overboard....like homecoming (can anyone explain to me why we all get SO excited over people who we have never met coming back to the school? I remember going to concerts and having to make the decision between the generic s,m,l,xl. I realize that there are good reasons behind one-size - cheaper printing costs, and lines move faster because you don't have people like me standing there moaning over a decision. But it is annoying too, because one-size now means X-L, which means if I'm shelling out $30 or thereabouts for a t-shirt I can only wear as a night shirt. On the other side of the fence, the baby-tees are also one size and I live in fear everytime I wash it in case it shrinks because it's a little snug as it is. (and making the decision to buy it was hard enough too...I had to rely on Tobey saying "sure, that will fit you"!!) The BNL concert I attended recently was great in that respect (cost-wise I was appalled at paying $30 for a tank top or baby-tee but what can you do?). They had all different sizes and types of shirts. AND they had the same shirt in both a baby-tee and regular tee, so you could go for what you felt comfortable in without compromising with what you were getting. I LOVE tank tops, big baggy ones that I can wear with jeans, etc. I came with checkbook in hand only to find what I can only term as "baby-tanks." I bought one anyway, marched into the ladies room at the Ramshead and came out with that tank top on. To say my husband's eyes nearly popped out of his head would be a Lori-esque understatement, especially since I don't tend to wear tight stuff anyway. So I stuck it out (literally and figuratively I guess) for about an hour until my next ladies room trip when I looked in the mirror and promptly tok the shirt off and put my Florida Marlins tank top back on. Those of you at the in-stores today may get to see the tank top on a figure much more appropriate for it -- my 8-year-old daughter. She lovod her present. If someone would be nice enough to write to a measly > troll and answer her stupid questions that would be nice. If your too > imbarrassed to do it in front of everyone you can email me..Thanks Troll is an ancient USEnet term created by thoughtful USEnet engineers. I think the proper (not under the bridge) definition of troll is to move around. Like you can troll a the bars on a street or something. The term was applies to usenetters that get their kicks from making the participants in a newsgroup mad. They just went from newsgroup to newsgroup posting a enraging post to a newsgroup. For example, someone who sent to rec.music.phish and said that Mike Gordon is the most wretched bass player in existence. The poster then goes on to state the exact same sentence 18 times using different words for wretched and not proposing any real reasons why. The poster then closes with a nice generalization about all phish fans being drunk asses that need to get a life. The poster then waits for the newsgroup in question to explode into activity all surrounding their little piece of participation in their group and reads on the edge of their seat each flame email they get back. They have no intention of sticking with the group or providing meaningful discussion. That's a troll. The troll is the person person making the post and also the post can be called a troll. So, I would assume you aren't a troll. If you are, then you are a terrible troll since your post is nicely asking a question that you actually want an answer to. Please try harder, troll-girl! As for spam, spam is unsolicited junk email. Usually it's commercial in origin. A bad company sells a bulk of newsgroup addresses or email addresses to someone who likes to send bulk email about tickling college guys and such. Spam is the actual post or email, while the person sending it is a spammer. Spam is highly frowned upon because it has absolutely nothing to do with the forum its given and no one asked for it in the first place. - Chad ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V3 #717 ********************************************
