I've checked out the Fruhead Map FHDC about a HUNDRED times since it went up and I feel so lonely up in northern alberta. It's almost depressing to see that one little dot all alone north of ANYONE else. No I'm not really gothic, but I WANT THORNHILL AND CAN'T WAIT until it is released up here. I want to listen to IWHO as the studio version. I've only heard it before on the concert that was webcast and I FELL IN LOVE (Excuse the breach, I don't *really* like the song) with it there. I don't mean to whine and grope, but I'm waiting for Thornhill (trying to be patient), wondering if I will be able to go to the Früvous concert at the Sidetrack Cafe, I have NO new books to read and have read "The Lord of the Rings" six times this summer, I am more anxious for school to start than ANY other year because this summer seems especially long, and related to the preivous thing in the list this year is the first year I will get to take physics as a full course instead of part of a course (Hurrah gor G 11!). I don't really mind being alone up here as a Fruhead. I listen to music alone, read alone, and work best by myself. Oh well maybe some more people I know will become Früvous fans. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Aug 1999 21:05:03 GMT From: vika@fruhead.com (Vika Zafrin) Subject: Re: Weighing In on Thornhill Chad Maloney delighted us with: >I don't understand this. Do you think Earthquakes sounds like >When She Talks? Do you think Hate Letter sounds like Splatter Splatter? Heh, funny you should put it that way. I had a lunch date with a friend today, whom I haven't seen for the last couple of months because of her travels. I ended up picking her up on a streetcorner (hah!!), and as she got in the car (no pun intended) I said to her: "You HAVE to listen to this, partly because you have no choice." And I put Earthquakes on. Now, she knows I love Fruvous. I've played some other studio stuff for her and she quite liked it, and she also liked the 3/8/98 Iron Horse show I lent her. But she's not an avid fan. She sat in that car mesmerised (sp?) and said she wanted to hear more. That's when I really appreciated the diversity of Thornhill. I played her My Poor Generation (to show her the contrast in Dave's amazing repertoire on this CD), then Splatter, Independence Day and Downsizing, to give her a taste of everyone's songwriting. Her reaction was different to every song, she was very much into it, and I think we may have a budding Fruhead here. ;) Give Thornhill's diversity a chance!
