But EFO and fruvous *have* played together. And may do so again soon, at Falcon Ridge (depends on how the workshop stage schedule is set up). Share mics, no. The members of EFO have discovered that having their own personal mics, always using those, and never sharing, drastically cuts down the number of colds they get while on tour. Dunno if fruvous do the same. Share Mikes? Does it count if they do a cover together as an encore at the end of the show, our would it have to be one of the Mikes joining the other band for one of their songs? Well, even if you're going for the stricter version, it's very likely to happen if they're scheduled together for a workshop stage show at Falcon Ridge. -- Cos (Ofer Inbar) -- cos@leftbank.com cos@polyamory.org -- WBRS Waltham 100.1 FM -- info@wbrs.org http://www.wbrs.org/ "Nice people have sex too!" -- Sara Greengrass, on WBRS 9Sep1997 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Jul 1999 14:53:19 GMT From: LSan497884@aol.com Subject: Re: AMMF PROFILE--CHAI And my favorite coffeeshop makes it also with cloves. If the new disc is getting airplay in places, the record labels could have gotten promo singles out to places by now as well. I saw a copy of Severe Tire Damage, the "latest" TMBG disc, in a used bin at a store 3 weeks before the official release of the album. (You need to use the author's name to request this book, because there are a couple of other books out there with the same title.) If you love music, especially classical, you will love this book! It's about a young boy who learns to play piano, and has the opportunity to work with some great teachers (I won't tell you all the details of how this comes about, because that would ruin the book). If you are familiar with a variety of classical pieces, you will actually "hear" them as you read--or you will want to play them while reading. It's a beautiful book, which I stumbled across in a used book store (the paperback), so it may be out of print by now. Your best bet would be a used book store probably, maybe Halfprice Books... . Date: Wed, 07 Jul 99 08:13AM EDT From: wber Add To Address Book Add To Junk Mail Blocker List To: Angie Subject: Answers from an expert More Details 1. Your friend was incorrect. He did not hear a new Fruvous song on WBER. There are *no* advance copies of the album floating around right now, and the station will not likely get it until, at earliest, 1-2 weeks before August 10th. So he was mistaken. There is a possibility your friend heard a band that I've been playing a lot of lately, called Da Vinci's Notebook. They sound nearly identical to Fruvous, and Moxy actually helps out singing on one of the songs. Or he may have heard the new track that Moxy sings on the new Johny Vegas record. 2. Regarding Fruvous' return to Rochester, no shows have been set up as of yet. They have played "students only" shows in Rochester on 3 occasions in the past few months, but that's about it. A show in Rochester this summer *might* happen, but probably not, as they would have scheduled it by now. However, definately look for them to return to Rochester in the fall. There is *no* way that they'd skip Rochester after a new record--It's simply too much money that they'd be missing out on. So, basically, keep your fingers crossed for the summer, but plan on a show in the fall. WBER So, you know I'm turning right around and quoting the 'XPN postings to them with a "guess you ain't such the expert" message attached.
