One of those styles eventually turn the person into a convert. hey, that's what happened to me- a friend played KITA for me one night when i was very stressed out w/ throwing out cold linguini. : c ) ~truztno1 ________________________________________________________________ Scully: Is there a plan, a purpose or a reason to our existence? Now that's a chai recipe I've never seen, but it does sound wonderful. Both recipes I have, Nepali and Indian, include fresh ginger, cardamom, star anise, cinnamon stick, and several whole black peppercorns. The multiple-serving method: brew in a teapot with a hearty tea (assam, keemun, or basic supermarket orange pekoe -- there's nothing subtle about this stuff.) Steep tea and spices for 5 minutes or so, remove tea leaves/bags (you can leave spices in if you want it to grow ever spicier), fill a mug with half tea and half hot milk (not skim, you need a little milkfat for the proper silkiness), and sweeten to taste. Good iced (just mix it all up in a pitcher and refrigerate); heavenly hot in the winter, especially when you've got a chill. It's also sold in bags -- Stash brand is adequate; Tazo, which is sold at certain demon coffeeshops and Fresh Fields/Whole Foods markets, is infinitely superior. And then there's the really sweet stuff sold in litre bottles (Celestial Seasonings, maybe?), which I personally can't stand but some people like a great deal. - -- Lori the tea maven **************** If I can't have a proper cup of coffee from a proper copper coffeepot I'll have a cup of tea. ------------------------------ Date: 09 Jul 1999 03:05:21 GMT From: srm9988n@aol.composter (Lori Martin) Subject: Re: ON WXPN NOW! Ok folks, this comes staight from the mouth of my lil bro who just came back from a vacation of fun and frolicking with cousins in New Jersey (while i stayed home to see a Frushow in Ft Erie....i won't say who had the better time ;-) anywho, it seems that he and said cousins found themselves in a music store where, out of pure curiosity, my bro did one of those electronic serch thingys on Moxy Fruvous. While fully expecting the 5 beloved disks to roll across the scree...what should passes by his eyes but....a 6th title????? and NO it was not Thornhill!!!! He said that there were only 2 songs on this one, however given that my bro has rather the short-term memory (runs rampant throuhg the Schrader siblings) he could not recall the names of the songs...even after i ran through all the new titles i could think of: "Downsizing?" "ummm...i think that might have been one of the..." "How bout Indy Day?" "that might have been one too...maybe not...i forgot..." oh well...it's a start. Could it be possible that a single has been released already? Can anyone verify/clarify what my bro saw??? Well, it's something to dwell on anyway....good nite.
