Subject: The great tofu debate

Well, I decided it was time to put in my half a cent about tofu.  I happen
to love the stuff!  So versitile.  Anyway, I've found that what works best
for me is first presing between (paper) towels for about 1/2 hour... (put
something heavy on top).  This helps it to compact.  Then I chop it up,
put it in a caserole dish, pour on some marinade and bake it for a while.
Not only does this eliminate the crumblingness (ooh... I made up a word!),
it also gives the tofu a wonderful flavor (well, as long as you use a
wonderful marinade=)

Well folks, sad to say we've come to the end of my tofu cooking show for
today. =)

Horseshoes, with it's twisted innocence, and strange yet groovy changes, is

Except you have to be reallyreally careful with MapQuest and Canada.
Last year, when I was looking for a good way for us to get to Burk's
Falls, Ontario, where Fruvous were playing, MapQuest directed me to
what looked like the westernmost point of the province.  As in, over a
day of driving or something like that.  It was very confusing.  :)

My 8 year old and I went to a music festival last weekend where we saw a
wonderful local band called The Argument www.theargument.net and she said

I don't mind chiming in on this one since thanks to the "Mushy OT" warning it
will be easy enough for those who don't want to continue this thread to zip by
it ... 

Just returned from a two-week road trip to the midwest, which included 1900
driving miles, about 600 of which were with the 8-year-old FruPrincess Dana. We
had a few new driving tapes to listen to (thanks to a certain non-NG Fruhead
who may peek on the board one of these days, especially since he's probably got
nothing much else to do with his girlfriend on the road on a long FruTrip but
I'll leave it at that) ... one was a BNL mixtape, mostly old stuff, because to
be honest I can't stomach "One Week" or that other single and couldn't figure
out what all the fuss was about. 

So I DO like this tape quite a bit but I think Dana summed it up -- "They're
kinda like Moxy Fruvous but a lot more famous and not as good." She liked the
TMBG mixtape he made us much better ... especially "Doctor Worm," "We Want a
Rock" and "Don't Start" (she liked the line about "you're my precious little
girl" and I didn't have the heart to tel her that I thought it was being said
that she WASN'T his precious little girl). 

But I digress, as I tend to do too often ... I wanted to add (and if you've
gotten this far, you're quite amazing) that Dana, too, is part of the "I've got
a crush on Jian" crew except that she won't admit it's a crush because she
refuses to have crushes, too uncool. Instead, every guy she sees with a pony
tail or long wavy hair looks just like Jian and she must point it out to
everyone within earshot. And she also knows while listening to the Moxy mixtape
(which she insisted go on for the rest of the ride) which songs are "Jian"
songs. 

Whew. Done. I'll shut up now and get another cup of coffee (French Market, not
Starbucks). 

Way too blabby Queen Lisa.

That's been puzzling me for awhile now, too... I'm really uncertain about some

I recall this being answered once somewhere back at the dawn of time
(ie. right after wood came out).  I think it was the interview section
of the "Present Tense Fanzine" or somesuch.  What I'm remembering is
that it is a snippet of some wacko religious tape that they found in the
studio from some previous user, or something like that.  

Anyone have a better memory, or a yen to do the research?

SPAM (forgive the extra m, please).  just thought you guys would find that
interesting.  i remember that was one of many acronyms for spam that was in an
itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny (yellow bikini.... not quite : ) article on a spam
celebration week or something in the Wall Street Journal a while back.
