(im also running on no sleep for about 24 hrs, so that intensifies every mood and emotion i feel). I want to reiterate everything people have been saying. I feel so lucky to know Moxy Fruvous, musically and personally. I have never felt the same way about any other band; fru-shows have become some of my favourite memories. Jian, Mike, Murray and Dave have some special gift that makes people happy just being around them. :) - -cheesemonkey jen, who means everything she sais, but is not "apt to sap" very often, and will probably laugh at this post sometime later on after she gets some much needed sleep. === ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Behold the power of cheese" - -American Dairy Association's slogan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? More Canadian content: Today I was at the Partners in Astronomy conference that's being held in Toronto for the next week. One of the papers I heard came from the North York Astronomical Association. During his presentation the president described a "Canadian" prize bestowed once a year on the member who has made the greatest contribution to astronomy. (Excuse the awkward sentence; I'm really tired.) For the life of me, I cannot remember the exact name of the award, but here is what the winner gets: - -$500 (Cdn, of course) - -a pound of Canadian back bacon - -a toque How's that for Canadian, eh? ;) Irene ------------------------------ Date: 03 Jul 1999 01:27:24 GMT From: zardsnod@aol.com (ZardSnod) Subject: Re: A couple o' questions..... >1. If you had to pick only 3 Moxy Früvous songs to ever hear again, which > would you choose ? (just trying to make conversation...actually I'm > really interested in the answers.) Oh, gosh... a toughie. Well, here goes: 1. Gulf War Song. Great harmonies, a long song (more band for your buck, as it were), humor, politics, it's got it all. 2. Nuits de Reve. Where else can a get a lovely French ballad that I've got liner notes to (so much of modern French music is boppy-dancy), in those marvelous harmonies (again), and all that great imagery? 3. King of Spain. Many of you may hate me for this... I know it's overplayed, but I think of all their songs, I can listen to it over and over and over again, and still only get moderately annoyed. And after a break I love it again. 3.5 - I'm cheating, I know. But that would be for a tie of Michigan Militia and the long (ie: MIT) version of Sahara. MIT version because that's the REALLY long version - about 11 minutes total. "yes," i replied. "what band is this?" "moxy früvous..." he was like, "ah." but then madison (tyler's sis) jumped up out of her seat and said "the *moon* guys!!!!" and then she and i had to explain. well, whatever. i think that story was kind of pointless, but that's my most recent conversion. and tyler's being dragged with me to philly folk fest, so he can see the guys. he told me he doesn't mind if i refer to him as a früvirgin, which is quite different from my friend katie who growls at me. but then i made her go to a show. and jian mentioned früvirgins there, so she knew it wasn't just me. love lizzie (plans for the weekend: packing for toronto!!! :)) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 03 Jul 1999 02:59:08 GMT From: SpainLB@aol.com Subject: Mushy OT!!!!!
