One of the things I love about YWGTTM is how musically diverse it is. Unless someone wants to argue that Lee, Michy, YWGTTM, Raja, and Medicine Show are all similar, I don't see where this need to have the material on an album "fit together" comes from. For the record, I would've liked to have Pisco on the album. Also, as far as When She Talks goes, it's not that I hate it, but I don't think it is as strong as say, Follow the Road, and I *knew* that if it made the album, I was gonna resent that song for what it *replaced* How could FtR not make it? I'm also glad to see that there is a never before heard song on the cd (gotta leave something for a surprise, right?) I agree with another comment that as a straight track, Pisco doesn't fit... but I would love to hear it as a hidden track a la Organ Grinder. I heard a lot of complaints about When She Talks before I heard it... but after a few times (esp. having it on tape) I've decided I actually really like it. No, it isn't the most brilliant piece of music I've heard, but I do like it... I guess it's that whole "wouldn't mind if someone shared that sentiment for me" kinda thing. I hated Sad Girl the first few times I heard it, but it's grown on me. Splatter Splatter, My Poor Generation, Independence Day... AWESOME!!!! I can't wait... I'll be able to get it three days before my vacation. Although some of the songs I wonder if they're too mellow for a 4 hr road trip... nahhhh ;^) re Friendship Festival: stumbled onto a good site today... www.friendshipfestival.com (I think, there's a link from FDC) I LOVE airshows, and it looks like there's one around Noonish near the Peace Bridge (according to the site, it can be viewed from LaSalle Park in Buffalo & the Park at Ft. Erie, who's name I forget). There's also a MIDWAY!!! RIDES!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! (so much for this being a cheap weekend). Anyway, ideally I'd like to plan to be there by 11am... I think things get started around 10am or so. Knowing me, I'll get there by 2pm! But, at this point that's _my_ plan... leaving Roch around 9am, grabbing Chris and packing crap in the car, getting stuck in traffic going across the Peace Bridge, blah blah blah... ;^) at this point, Chris and I are still game for Darien Lake on Sunday. We can get discount tix at Wilson Farms (convenient store) or Tops (grocery store) that are something around $9.99 or $11.99. I'll stop in tomorrow and find out. _If_ people are [definitely] interested in going, I might be able to grab some pre-sale passes and hand them out at Ft. Erie. re the lit mag: Ok, the recipe for FruBars is no big secret (no big health treat either! heehee). What about the Fruvous Dreams? I still have the Fruvous Action Figures dream saved somewhere :^) Don't have any filks or such (unless you count my little poem from a few days ago, hee hee). alrighty, I'm off to bed... teaching a day class and a night class tomorrow... ugh! ciao and FruLovin'! - -Angie They say that the Road to Hell is paved with good intentions... well, at least it will be a smooth ride - --me ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com. ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V3 #520 ********************************************
