["KatieWow" Subject: OT but of interest to DC/NoVa people, maybe so i'm reading my email and there's a message from the RadioMo mailing list. Radio Mosaic is the band that New Potato Caboose became after they ceased being New Potato Caboose, and in fact, even stopped being Wood-n- Steel (if you really need to know this story, go to www.radiomosaic.com). and for anyone who ever loved NPC as i did, former gee-tarist Don Laux is coming back to town (to get married, boo! ;) and will be sitting in with RadioMo at their 6/24 show. peachy, i think. then i remember. dammit. i already have plans that evening. oh, well. but another interesting little tidbit in RadioMo News is that there's a new Bayou. i'm assuming that this means that the owners of the old bayou have opened up a new club, since i don't think the old one is at their disposal anymore. ;) anyway, FYI, from the RadioMo News, The new Bayou is a club called The Garage in Washington, DC. We will be playing there on Friday July 23rd with the Recipe. Details and directions are forthcoming. peace, ellen *************************************************** I spoke about wings; you just flew I wondered, I guessed and I tried; you just knew Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. We stayed at a place in King of Prussia next to the mall there. It was an interesting drive from KoP to Schwenksville. I think we got lost 90% of the time. But there is singing opportunities for Darlington Darling while driving if you make the right wrong turns. It's more or less a traditional festival. Pretty crowded. No dancing at all. They had maybe 4 stages. Possibly more. Fruvous had a mainstage show and two workshops in '97, but I think they missed one of the workshops (we missed it too coming in from DC after the Birchmere show) and were late for their second one. But they did captivate the crowd and got everyone standing during their mainstage show. Hi Folks, In the interest of moving FDC out of the arcane HTML world that it's been in since 1996, I've changed the main FDC page to ensure faster loading time. The new page uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). A very simple one, but it allows for text links rather than 44 images (black and red) to be loaded every time index.html is loaded. The _only_ drawback so far is that the groovy-red that shows up when your mouse pointer is over a link only shows up in IE4...I'm still looking for a way to make it work in Netscape. Josh Woodward (with his Jedi-like guidance) has been helping me re-evaluate sections of FDC and make them a little more "modern" (well, relatively speaking ;-) It was his idea to try this new coding style for the main page. So, check it out, and lemme know if anything funky happens (e.g. links not working, text not lining up right, etc...) Since the links are no longer images, the browser will take a lot more artistic license in rendering them...I just wanna make sure it looks good for everyone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chris 'Father' O'Malley http://www.fruvous.com 'Tattoo Fru' webmaster@fruvous.com "I like being a pretzel with you..." ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1999 16:51:12 -0400 From: "KatieWow" Subject: Re: location of fans and, in fact, people were still talking about them at last year's festival :). ~~kate - -- Kate Leahy kleahy@loyola.edu katiewow@frumail.org ***************************************************************** "Quite frankly, I wish the website would just go down . . . we're starting to make a little bit of money.
