Also if you check out their press releases, you'll find this blurb about their "7-Eleven Café Cooler": "In blind taste tests conducted by an independent marketing research firm, consumers liked the bottled 7-Eleven Café Cooler mocha drink significantly better overall than the Starbucks Frappuccino drink, a similar product. Available chilled in the cooler vault, the 9.5-ounce drink has a suggested retail price of $1.29, about 10 to 20 cents less than the Starbucks product." You want to quote something deep and pensive, .sig it. (I did quote something from Veronica yesterday that is, in context, exceedingly serious, but out of context sounds kinda weird.) If I start quoting the deep and pensive stuff it starts looking like I'm setting out "truths" or something, and a.m.m-f has a lot of viewpoints about various subjects, so most of the time, I stay away. Just a note, because people get wildly enthusiastic at me for the few days after the list gets updated and I'm always afraids that some people might feel left out. I am very aware at all times that the list isn't a democracy. Yes, I quote things other people have found funny as well as what amused me, but most people don't send me things to quote.. or if they do it's stuff that hasn't been posted to the newsgroup. Cardinal Rule - anything, even the stuff from IRC, MUST be posted to the newsgroup before I quote it. (It would also be wise to check with all perpetrators of any IRC silliness before the log is posted) >I still stand by my assertion that NSYNC'S JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS A HOTTIE Oh by all means, stand by it. I have my own little crush on a young pop star... I just wouldn't post it here *g* I get enough friendly flak for my taste in music :) Fiona (not that everyone will actually *see* this) ~~~~~~~~~~ Quoting Frühead: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Lounge/3227/ Live life to the fullest, for the future is scarce. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 07 Jun 1999 02:15:01 GMT From: jkpolk@ntplx.net (Andrea Krause) Subject: Re: Appel Farm *sniffle* *whimper* -- who went? (I woulda recognized you if I had! :) ) I did see several Früheads (one of whom I misidentified...sorry! but I'm a ditz! :) ) and that was a great feeling. I had a completely wonderful time (except for being crawled on by a HUGE spider...on my face even!) and now I'm all psyched for the rest of the summer. I can not wait for Falcon Ridge. It is going to be mind-numbingly spectacular. :) I just can't seem to shake my Appel Farm high!! And for all of you who get WXPN on a regular basis, I envy you like you wouldn't believe! Our alarm actually woke us up to XTC. I have never ever heard XTC on the radio that wasn't Mayor of Simpleton, Dear God, or the Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead. I love that station. Hmm...other Appel highlights? Saw Ellis Paul for the first time and loved him. He was a sweetie signing my CD. The Nields just blew me away like they always do, and David Nields scared the heck out of me barreling through the crowd right over my leg. :) Great Big Sea was full of oomph and energy as always. I could listen to Arlo Guthrie tell stories all day. And there is nothing more beautiful than seeing small children dancing to the music with big grins on their faces. That just gives me the best warm fuzzies!
