What do u like most aboot Much? the constant repetition of overplayed manufactured CRAP? the stupid annoying VJs? the fact that the last time fruvous was played on there was like A YEAR ago? You get the stupid insensitive manager/owner on the phone and plead your case to him, how youve been a devoted fruhead for many years and how the drinking part isnt even a consideration to you and you just want to see a show, and you get "NO. ITS THE RULES." It always just ends in bitter frustration. In Canada its 19+ and its so hard being friggin 18. Sarah and Heather, i totally sympathize with you. Pretty much all fruheads (at least to my knowledge) are beyond the age restrictions and i thought i was the only one who went thru this crap. Its comforting at least to know there are others in the same deal. - -jen, TURNING 19 IN JUNE! - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Apr 1999 02:20:36 GMT From: Anna! What do u like most aboot Much? the constant repetition of overplayed > manufactured CRAP? the stupid annoying VJs? the fact that the last time > fruvous was played on there was like A YEAR ago? Well, on good faith, I can't really judge a station on whether or not they play Fruvous videos. I mean, to my knowledge, they have *never* been played on MTV. I guess Much just seems less commercial, perhaps? As less commercial as specialty television can be! I was only in TO for a week, so maybe it's just the premise that it was something new. *Every* music station overplays manufactured crap. What can I say? Sadly, manufactured crap sells :P > MTV must be pretty bad for one to be likin' MuchMusic! MTV is horrible. Horrible, I tell you. Let's see...devoting a half hour of programming to a show that is simply people lip-singing and gyrating to popular music? Uh...stupid? Devoting entire days to 'Real World' marathons, as if the Real World actually does consist of six beautiful, jobless, 20-somethings living in a loft in [insert trendy city here]?? (Apologies to anyone who likes the Real World, or it's oh-so-clever counterpart 'Road Rules' which is the same premise as above only in a RV!) But you know, maybe I just didn't watch MuchMusic long enough to see the Canadian version of crap :) > right before his makeover Jian stated "I dont wanna be one of those Jenny > Jones before and after models!" luckily this one was tastefully done, even if > some of the clothes just werent him (think khaki-colored carpenter pants and > preppy knit sweater). I don't even want to know what they would try to do with me. The idea of making over Jian strikes me as a little silly, because it's not like they can really make a markable difference. It's not like he's some super-crazy dresser who can get toned down, or a super-conservative dresser who needs more flair. He just seems sorta normal to me. But then, this preppy threat is everywhere these days...they're looking for more victims :) Of course, I'm sure the whole idea was just for fun, which makes my previous points, well, pointless. - -anna- http://elements.dreamhost.com - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Apr 1999 03:11:34 GMT From: cheesemonkey_fruvite@my-dejanews.com Subject: Re: Jian gets a makeover In article <7fbfhf$4qi$1@nnrp1.dejanews. > Well, on good faith, I can't really judge a station on whether or not they > play Fruvous videos. Trust me, Im not judging Much's horribleness on the fact they dont play fruvous, its just one thing that pisses me off. Youre right, fruvous doesnt sell cuz they ARENT manufactured crap, so not many stations would play them. It's just frustrating that here is fruvous, a great Canadian band, an idealic band to portray on Much, if not for the entertainment value then for the diversity, and they go play NSYNCH and BACKSTREET BOYS. I would imagine there would be enough of that on MTV, why overload the Canadian station with that crap? UG. MM runs a contest to become a vj for a day, program whateva ya want. Oh man, if i won, it would be a 24 hour FRUVATHON, you can bet your ass! hehe, that would be the best. next time they have the contest im going for it. In fact, i suggest we fruheads ban together and assemble a systematic takeover of MM and MTV! - -jen, sitting home on a saturday night not feeling too swell - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V3 #337 ********************************************
