'cause I'm lazy and my eyes hurt to the back of my skull... I've only skimmed the topics of the last 67 digests... poppin' in here and there to read some comments... so's I can get back into the party! Anyway, here goes: 1) It seems a bit late for my FruCon review. I'll drop some key points here and there... if I ever get around to the full review, maybe I'll still send it off to Chris O (nice meeting you finally, btw!) I'm sure you've heard this before... but if you're Chris O'Malley, known as Father O'Malley or Chris O... would that make you Daddy O? *duck* 2) I love Smarties. Period. They rock, M&M's rock (tho' Hershey's Hugs n Kisses are better... and Dark Chocolate Dove Bars and Treasures are awesome!) I can't believe I was in Canada and didn't score an Aero Bar! They were more popular growing up than Snickers (well, I _did_ grow up in Buffalo, afterall). Hey, anyone remember Sixlets? Anyway. Chris did make me try Poutine (he was jonesin' for Harvey's), it's pretty good, but I couldn't eat an entire order. 3) Susan Werner is a goddess, I've already begun the task of spreading the word of her music (my friend Julie has the CD right now, gotta get it back before too long). I was listening to it at work the other day on the Mac (our overly expensive CD player), and someone asked if I was listening to Karen Carpenter ?!? Anyway... 4) Cartoon Crushes: There was a GI Joe character, but I forgot which one. Keith in Voltron-Lion Force, Lord Khyron from Robotech-1st Gen, and Scott Bernard from Robotech-3rd Gen (come to find out when I bought my Robotech Art1 book that the same actor did the voice for both Robotech characters, that explains a lot!) 5) Phil! You stole one of my sigs! sorta... the employee eval one... heehee... :^) Big hugs, I miss ya bud! Wish we coulda hung out more... between stuffing my face at the Golden Griddle, working the check-in desk, and you being "otherwise distracted" Sat night... I'll also start working on adaptable rhythms for songs other than "Sahara" and "No No Raja" so that I can play along next year. 6) George, you can Swing with me any time! Our brief little swirl around the post-concert floor was fun...tho I prefer Lindy... *sigh* maybe next time :^) 7) No FruCon Death Flu for me, things have been too busy for it to catch up with me. The Post-Con Depression hit me like a brick tho (bright orange, with green swirls and red polka-dots, to be exact). *sigh* how long to wait until my next live Fru-fix? 8) Did anyone else notice that during the final bow on Fri nite Mike bent down to pick something up, and handed it to Jian? It turned out to be his pendant, I guess the cord broke. I noticed he didn't get it fixed by Sat night, was he wearing it again on Sun? 9) Aryn? SCAdian are ya? soon-to-be former Chatelaine of the Barony of Thescorre in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc (Roch NY). If you'll be at Pennsic, mayhap us Fru-SCAdians will have to arrange to meet at the food-court for Italian Ice ;^) "Pineapple-Banana-Mangoooooo please!" 10) A rather involved comment I'd like to make, sort of regarding Anna's article but not really. Right before FruCon I got email from a couple of people and initially felt a little offended (tho that's actually too strong a word) at the perceived tone. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, and in one instance particularly I was gratefully proven wrong. Email sucks sometimes because it's hard to convey the actual emotion of the author. I went to FruCon with an open mind, and I did however meet one person (actually encountered this person a few times, so it wasn't just initial impression) who was consistently rude and haughty around me, to the point where I actually assisted this person (twice) and this person couldn't even bring themself to say thank you. In a way, I'm glad it happened, because to have such a large and diverse group where EVERYONE gets along and they're all best of friends is just unrealistic... Frutopia to the extreme. Some of you know who I may be referring to in this... it's no big deal, I don't have to be everyone's friend and I don't bring this up to start a fight... only to say that it's proof that things can be misinterpreted... and that everyone has to realize that there are bound to be Fru-fans that you will have personality conflicts with. It just makes it real, ya know? To the countless awesome people I met: Chris O, Vika, Fruwench, Steve, Lori, chad, George, Amy S, AJ, Wild Bill, Angel, Drea, Kat, Tom, Doug, Valerie, Sheryl, Caitlin, Fiona, Brent & Mar, Dante, Justin (was he ever awake for any of it?), Rodney, Jude! (who totally rocks, in case you didn't know), Neil, Phil, Matt S, Brad, Lynne, and all the names I can't recall off the top of my head--- hi, hello, and thanks for contributing to a great weekend! Trace, I saw you pass by but I missed you... we'll have to fix that sooner or later! Ok, I think I'm caught up for the moment, but if I remember anything, you know I'll keep ya posted (ack). - --Angie 1 car, 2+ weeks old, 500+ miles on the odo... gotta love it... hee hee! 30.
