My problem: I only know how to use the text editor "pico" this account doesn't have that. Any need? Anyone interested? - ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 15 Mar 1999 17:18:30 GMT From: Jill Hufnagel To: ammf@fruvous.com Newsgroups: alt.music.moxy-fruvous Subject: Re:Literary Mag for fru >As a litmag enthusiast, I think a FruHead litmag would be a nice >project. Well I'm not too much for the writing thing, however if you need art I'm there. So I say we do it!!! But thats just me (said in a timid little voice). Oh, and as for who recieves it if we create it off computer. What about making it part of next years Frucon. Is that stupid? It's kind of far away maybe we'd want it out before that. *jiel* Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Mar 1999 19:53:24 -0700 From: katrin@dimensional.com (Katrin) Subject: Re: FruMag (was Literary Mag for Fru and some other stuff) In article <19990315.151740.-417613.1.petit_chou@juno.com>, petit_chou@juno.com says... > A cover shouldn't > be too hard (except deciding on who does the artwork...KATRIN?). Uh...um...wow. How like totally flattering that you mention me in this context - and you're right, the idea does sound exciting. All the other questions you bring up are valid too, though - a print magazine would be a major undertaking, though not impossible. The more I think about it, though, the more ideas I get for how it might be done. Did I mention that I used to do page layout for a living, and hope one day to be in the book publishing business? Or that PageMaker is my favorite program to work with? (I'm forced to use QuarkXpress for work and school, and it doesn't even compare.) Or that proofreading is one of my favorite hobbies? The nuts-and-bolts of putting together a project like this is just starting to sound like more and more fun. Heck, if I got to do all that, I'd be more than willing to let one of the many other talented artists around here do the cover design. I'm not terribly experienced in working with printing companies, but I have done a little bit of that kind of thing, and know some people who could probably help with that. Now, um, who's gonna come up with the MONEY for all this? k@ what the hell did I just volunteer to do ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Mar 1999 22:23:16 -0500 From: "KatieWow" Subject: Re: FruMag (was Literary Mag for Fru and some other stuff) pagemaker is god. we at the literary magazine used that while the freaks at the newspaper used quark. though we had our problems with aldus too, the newspaper staff was ready to throw themselves out the window of their office every month. ~~kate - -- kate leahy kleahy@loyola.edu everybody loves a happy ending but we don't even try we go straight past pretending to the part where everyone loves to cry - --elvis costello ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Mar 1999 03:34:02 GMT From: McCown Subject: FruMag (was Literary Mag for Fru and some other stuff) Oh wow! I had an idea and people liked it! I'm so excited. And relieved that people actually know what they're doing, cuz I'm just sort of like "wouldn't that be neat?" and have no idea where to go from there. I'm sort of...well, I'd like it if everyone could submit something and know it would be in, because I'm not sure if anyone would really want to make decisions like that since we're all friends (right?) but whatever everyone else thinks, obviously. And, regarding what Kate said do you think the stuff would all need to be Fru-related? I mean, yes, that's why we all know each other, but we keep finding out that we all have so much else in common, too. It just seems kinda limiting. But wow, this is so exciting! love Lizzie ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Mar 1999 03:44:42 GMT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: re: new album name chad requested: > Lori, dear, share a pic or two. :> Oh, okay, darling, as you're the second one who's asked, i guess I'will have to hie myself over to the Camera Shop one of these days and get my 3 FruCon rolls developed. It's just been One Of Those Months where nothing nonessential gets done. But I haven't forgotten my Fru-obligations, honestly.
