Hey thats really cool. I'm just finishing up a power point presentation on Moxy Fruvous for a class of mine here at The Art Institute of Pittburgh. I'd really like to see you presentation. Oh, and if you figure out how to allow everyone to view it let me know and when I'm done with mine maybe you guys can view that too. So what is yours like? It's my first project on power point so I'm still not totally sure of what all it does. Mine is a slide show put to music. I could actually use any help. You see the presentation is approximately a 3min. and 15 sec. slide show including Photos I took at the Sat. night Frucon show. Along with every Photo there has to be a little blurb about why we took the photo. I wanted to put quotes instead, but I don't think that is going to fly. So getting back to the whole music thing. I think it would be confusing if I put it to a song with words, if the viewer is going to have to be reading also. Since Moxy doesn't have any songs without word I was wondering what do you think about using a frech song? Would that be less destracting. Oh, and if I'm putting it to one of their songs what exactly do I have to put down to give them credit. I mean it's for a school project, but I'm still using one of their songs so I have to say that ...How and where? Any ideas? All these legal questions flying around lately I feel like we should have representation from the band. Where Murray says "but I'm stuck here on the grass where the cold winds blow," Peter or Paul (I confess I don't which is which) sings "...where the pavement never grows." You can probably find it in most chain record stores in the US, with a big SUPER SAVER sticker on, for about $11. WELL worth this little investment, if you ask me (which you didn't but oh well). :) BJ couldn't *help* but be a huge Harry Nilsson fan; his whole story was sort of modeled off The Point with a Foster-Ford-Ghomeshi-Matheson twist to it. :) Go listen; you'll see! It was a bit of a major thrill for me and roB! and I think Doug too, to find that our prolonged listening to that album paid off at last. You can ask them how I tortured them through snow, at high speeds, in the Colorado Rockies barely a month previous to the BJ & Rachel show. :) leah /*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Mar 1999 12:30:16 -0500 From: Chad Maloney Subject: Re: Venue Size Matt James wrote: > > Michael Kosloski (koslosmd@rose-hulman.edu) wrote: > : The biggest I've seen was probably ~350 and mostly standing room. They are still playing at largest medium-sized clubs and smallest some bars. The Ark in Ann Arbor is pretty big, but it's sit down. Mabel's in Champaign probably held around 400 people and was packed. Same for the Canopy Club in Urbana. They sold out Schuba's in Chicago two nights in a row over holiday, but Schuba's is maybe 150 people. The largest midwest shows I've seen are probably Ludlow's in Columbus and Double Door in Chicago. Matt, I did a long post on venue sizes awhile back. You may want to check Deja News to read it. Come visit the Midwest for shows! I'm not keyboard savvy like you all umlaut people (thought I am fluent in ALT-666 -> Ü) but I thought if you put an e in there it would act like an umlaut. Like muede or Fruevous. For example, oh, I don't know, dropping the last verse of Jockey Full of Bourbon for the longest time and instead repeating the first verse[1].
