There were like 7 or 8 DATs rolling all three nights, so yeah there are tapes. Check with our imfamous tapers Josh, Chad, Jason, Chris O, Nate, etc. As for video, Rodney Elin and I taped the Sunday show. (Rodney may also have a tape of Saturday someday, if he can figure out how to fix the audio.) Rodney has said he'll handle trades for the Sunday tape, so you can contact him at elin@rff.org. I'm also willing to make copies of the video if he gets too swamped with requests, but he's got more toys and has been able to add fade-ins and outs and stuff that I can't do. Being someone who reads the ng every day (sometimes more by necessity than by desire), I personally feel it will just create more hassles for those who try to keep up with ammf postings to have to check _two_ places for potential Moxy news. I know during this time of non-touring, the posts on ammf tend to have way less fru-content, but I'd rather know that there's one place where someone can go to get the latest posts, not message boards strewn all over the net, with some people posting here, and some people posting there, etc... With the advent of the ammf<>mail gateway and sites like dejanews, I really don't think it's necessary to have a web-based message service. The ng is far easier to access than it used to be even 1 year ago. I have a feeling most people feel the same way I do...but I wanted to express my opinion anyways. I certainly agree with Chris here. Obviously if someone wants to set up another forum to talk about Moxy Fruvous that is their right, but I think one of the fabulous things about AMMF is that it is such a central nexus for frufans to exchange views and information. I know that I for one will not be checking any other forums, so if you want my attention ya gotta post it here. There is. It's called alt.music.moxy-fruvous Jeremy, why don't you try using a threaded newsreader? Most news clients can display the content of USENET groups in a threaded form, as you're used to seeing on the chatter boards. Also, most of the good web-based newsreaders have the ability to show content in this manner. The only real downside to this forum is that we will continue to get some random spamming. If it's a big problem for you, many news services are filtering out obvious spam material. Do we really want to form another forum so similar to this one? I don't even have time to keep up with all the posts we're getting on AMMF. It took me about a year of sending kill messages to finally get some news services to discontinue carrying alt.fan.moxy.fruvous One other advantage to the USENET forum is that it's not based on one company's equipment. If eesite goes belly-up, the board would have a problem. If someone says something libelous on a board like that, it opens up the company providing the board to lawsuits. It's pretty sad, but in a world such as this, there's some advantage to having servers all over the world storing our messages. USENET has it's problems, but it seems to be working pretty well for us. At least we don't have spam based on the name of our group, as has been the problem with alt.music.barenaked-ladies... except for that one from Moz a while back. ;) See ya, Jason jreiser@ecoutez.com ------------------------------ Date: 6 Mar 1999 21:11:19 GMT From: aleigh992@aol.comBROCCOLI (ALeigh992) Subject: Re: about childish abuse > AT the same >store I also saw the 4 CD Transistor Blast from BBC sessions >from 1977-1982, hopefully they'll still have that.
