I told my manager I'm playin' hooky tomorrow... Anyway... here's my babbling for the day: 1) re: capital punishment. I can't comment on it. I'm of two opinions regarding it... I don't 100% agree with it, but the current penal systems are horrendously ineffective and ridiculous. Prisons shouldn't be "holding tanks" for degenerates (real life, not the Lori type!) and criminals that the people in charge don't want to deal with. It's like sweeping it under the rug so they don't see it. Prisons are not unlike Landfills... they're overcrowded because criminals are locked up and forgotten. What about rehabilitation? What about proper punishment? Yeah, I have a bit of a problem with convicts cozying it up in gyms, three square meals a day, the opportunity to just kick back and work on degrees, etc... (well, via correspondence courses, I think)... while I, a law-abiding tax-paying hard-working citizen am struggling to make ends meet. I won't go into it, because I don't have a clear opinion to argue. I could debate both sides of the issue. Oh, and I _am_ Pro-Choice... Well, not really progressive... see my bro is 29 my sis is 27. My other bro is 19 and I turned 17 today...why the age gap? James (29) was born in a hospital and almost died at birth keeping dad out of the war. This allowed them time to make Jeni (27). They did not let dad in the delivery room for the birth and he snapped. He wanted to kill the doctor and would not allow mom to go to a doctor again (not even for check ups so she went privately and told him afterwards [we don't lie in our family]). So after ten years they decide to have more of us but without doctors. Ben(19) appeared on the scene with the cord around his throat. The town doctor (potsdam northern vacant NY) rushed in from his vacation and saved bens life. Because dad is a stubborn butt they had me at home as well.
