There was actually a feller near me taping -- but I didn't recognize him at all... My take on the show... Interesting night. I really can't figure out why listening to this one specific band makes me so blissfully happy and why it becomes so very important for everyone that means anything to me...to be forced to enjoy it as well.. I already got my roomie/cousin Gil and my brother into Fruvous.. This 9:30 gig -- I brought my ex-fiancee (the lovely gent I was with that night) who I became oddly stressed at for not having completely fallen head over heals for the band...I think the whole thing is that he's a DIE HARD ABBA fan (which, when I had first found out, caused me to question our entire relationship anyway ;) ) and was disturbed by the lack of purity to Dancing Queen...blech on him :) Anyways...the venue, well, old WUST hall, last time I was there I was seeing the unknown (and best off that way) Jewel opening for the awe inspiring Peter Murphy! in..err...'95? anyways...I was THRILLED the boys managed to pack the house -- and first I thinking -- well, it's a dirt cheap 9:30 concert on a Friday night, but when the crowd started rioting for King of Spain, although they were increasingly annoying, they were showing they knew something about the band and wanted what was familiar which in its own way is cool! Vocally/musically the guys were just ON! Missed hearing Pisco and I Will Hold On from the new sect...(there's always older things I want..just means I have to go to more shows :) ). Fun night :) You know me -- generally too shy to wait around to talk with everyone ('specially the band) after the show...but the guys know when they've given a great show and after all, we keep coming back :) - and after last time when all my research/interviews/coats/pizza were stolen...I STILL came back! :) [though now frucardless :(] I'm rambling. Much fun. Wish the crowd had been more respectful to Jess.
