This is going to sound snarky and mean, but that's a stupid reason to hold up a show. I also think there may have been other reasons for the delays, but don't piss off your fans. I love Fruvous and go to a lot of trouble to see them. After waiting around all that time with that terrible music; after almost fainting from vertigo because groups of people kept sitting down on the floor on either side of me, completely destroying my equilibrium; I asked myself if it was really worth the effort. It was, as soon as they started playing; but don't put us through that again! Add to that the line fiasco (one line for people who already had their tickets and will call) I'd call the Troc an unquestionable flop as a concert venue, no matter how nice the room itself it. I kept wondering if the people who run the place had come to us from a stint at Kinko's or I Heart Yogurt. Every venue I've ever been to that frisked people as part of their security, had female bouncers to frisk female concert goers. The very good reason for this was proven at the Troc, as the bouncer who *frisked* me got no where near my pockets (in fact I had a camera he missed in my coat pocket) and just contented himself with patting my ass twice. I'm sure I wasn't the only one treated to a bouncer who "copped a feel" last night. Yet another reason to boycott the Trocadero. - -- Trace gemini@p3.net *sniff* Target is within sniffing range. Yeah, I've heard that too, although I'm not sure which character she was (my friend says that Alanis was, and I quote, "The One Who Always Got Slimed A Lot". I have to admit that this description doesn't really ring any bells with me, because I seem to remember a LOT of people getting slimed a lot of the time). I lived in Ottawa during that time, and once some people from the show came to our school. It was really neat; we all went to the gym and we got to find out what the slime was made of, and other things that I found fascinating when I was seven but that I forget now. I've always had mixed feelings about the Troc. The next two choices for bigger venues are the Tower, and the Electric Factory. The Electric Factory has terrible acoustics, so the Tower would be good. While I don't disagree with your comments about the security one bit, I can almost understand where they're coming from. The majority of shows at the Troc are the type that have lots of obnoxious, overzealous fans that do a lot of moshing, so they probably get into a certain mindset for all shows. Not that I agree with that. What *really* annoyed me was the situation in the balcony. Both aisles in the balcony were packed with people, a definite fire hazard, yet nothing was done. Nobody could move in and out without difficulty, and god forbid there should be an emergency. (Of course, it didn't help that the people sitting in the aisle near me were complete morons.)
