I went way over the milage since I really had no idea how far it was to Buffalo and the rental agent asked me why and I told him I had gone to Buffalo to see a band. He then asked me which band. I replied "You probably don't know them, Moxy Fruvous". He said "Oh Moxy." To which I said he didn't have to humor me. Then he told me he was orignally from Buffalo and that while he lived there Fruvous was playing the clubs. Though he couldn't quite believe that there were people actually traveling to see them. He was quite shocked when I told him that I roomed with a girl from San Franciso for the show and where many other Fruheads were came from for the New Year's show. Well, to get picky and analytical (and to fill time before I leave work)...I believe the KOS is saying that he has all these great ideas about how to run a country (chocolate eclairs!), so if any of you world leaders out there need some help (hey Clinton, hey Yelstin) give him a call and he'll be happy to dispense his advice. And yes, the original version did say "Hey Bush" It also used to be the Habs that called him to drive the Zamboni, not the Leafs. So the song evolves and changes as time goes on (just to make sure we keep on our toes when we're singing along, I think...) Since I seem to be getting through today I thought I'd resend this one since its such a great story. This year for the Secret Santa in my office, my friend Susan picked out our boss as who she had to get a gift for. When we were talking about it, I told her that if I had picked him that I was going to make a tape of I Love My Boss to include with the present. She asked me to play the song and loved it and insisted I help her add it to her present. Since we work for a graphic design agency that does work for Sony and BMG Records, I decided it also had to have a personalized tape cover with our boss's picture. I'm attaching a jpeg of the final cover for you all to see it. Of course while I was printing the cover the boss came in for the first time all day and I'm standing at the printer covering it so he can't see what I'm doing. Finally, we all exchanged presents. Well, my dear boss laughed himself silly and the song was played for the whole office. My boss had me turn it off when it came to "He pays me mininum wage…" saying we had to go on with the present exchange but later he had me play the song again in full. Of course, he initally thought the present was from me being the only Fruvous fan in the office, but I told him I was only guilty of helping. Everyone thought that the tape was the highlight of the Secrect Santa gift exchange. He liked the tape so much he showed it to his whole family on Christmas eve. His father, the orginal boss of the agency, loved it too. Peace, Anita (and I do Love My Boss, today at least.)
