I still have some kind of morbid fascination with > doing research that way, but I'm sure I'd lose that if I had to spend much > time at it! i remember when there were actually paper cards in libraries and stuff like that and i'm not even college-graduate age.......anyway, i really liked doing research that way for school papers 'cause i'd get distracted and find all sorts of neat stuff. the only bad part was that i'd procrastinate so much that i would only have time enough to do the paper and little else so the wandering wasn't a good thing for the paper per se but it was so much fun. it seemed so much easier to comb through the cards because you could easily continue on in different subjects that might even help your research. with the computer stuff it's only what you type in. there really isn't an easy browsing system in the same sense of browsing through the card catalog. anyway, just thought i'd share the non-relevence. : ) ~jess ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Dec 1999 21:13:46 GMT From: omegakap@usa.net (Kyle) Subject: Re: Michigan Theater Information On Thu, 23 Dec 1999 11:09:09 -0500, "A.J. And I just don't mean you, Mike, I mean Neil, too. The only part anyone paid any attention to in that post was the part about, "crap." ^_^ Now what does that tell you? Too many Ren and Stimpy reruns perhaps? ^_^ From now on everything I post here is going to contain the phrase, "crap in my pants" at least once. Ok, so I mistimed my tape and missed Conan O'Brian... I have yet to see IWHO on MuchMoreMusic.... I missed the interview with "Sian" and Dave on Fax.... BUT.... I'm almost positive tonight that I saw Murray on the 6:00 news on CityTV tonight. For the non-Toronto people in the crowd, City is a Toronto station owned by the self-proclaimed god of TV who owns MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, Bravo, Space, CP24, and who knows what else... Anyways, the story was a segment on Toys R Us, and the fact that Toys R Us is unable to guarantee a Christmas delivery for people who ordered over their internet site. So I guess they were getting random shoppers' opinions on the matter. I wasn't paying much attention but all of a sudden I heard a very familiar voice...so I look up at the tv, and in the corner it says "Murray Foster - shopper" Since of course, it was only a 2-second blip, I was paying too much attention to whether or not this was Murray to actually hear what he was saying! He was too bundled up in winter clothing for me to tell for sure, but the name and the voice lead me to believe that this was Murray! Oh, and the fact that he was stage Murray on the screen of my tv....
