A College Version of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas 'Twas the night before finals, And all through the college, The students were praying For last minute knowledge. Most were quite sleepy, But none touched their beds, While visions of essays danced in their heads. Out in the taverns, A few were still drinking, And hoping that liquor would aid in their thinking. In my own apartment, I had been pacing, And dreading exams I soon would be facing. My roommate was speechless, His nose in his books, And my comments to him Drew unfriendly looks. I drained all the coffee, And brewed a new pot, No longer caring That my nerves were shot. I stared at my notes, But my thoughts were muddy, My eyes went ablur, I just couldn't study. "Some pizza might help," I said with a shiver, But each place I called Refused to deliver. I'd nearly concluded That life was too cruel, With futures depending On grades had in school. When all of a sudden, Our door opened wide, And Patron Saint Put It Off Ambled inside. Her spirit was careless, Her manner was mellow, She started to bellow: "What kind of student Would make such a fuss, To toss back at teachers What they tossed at us?" "On Cliff Notes! On Crib Notes! On Last Year's Exams! On Wingit and Slingit, And Last Minute Crams!" Her message delivered, She vanished from sight, But we heard her laughing Outside in the night. "Your teachers have pegged you, So just do your best. Happy Finals to All, And to All, a good test." heh, "Patron Saint Put It Off," my favourite saint of them all! - -jen :) Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Dec 1999 13:30:17 GMT From: vika@attglobal.net (Vika Zafrin) Subject: Re: Bargainville? Hello Fellow Frutios... Just felt like posting about something that happened friday.. Every friday in my school I attend Art Club....A while ago I suggested having music playing during the club, and the teacher was all for it...So I've been doing that. Last Friday I stuck in Bargainville. I was surprised to see one kid knew of Moxy Fruvous cause of a downloaded Spiderman mp3...But anyway Usually when I have music playing I look around for reactions...Usually I don't get much...And there wasn't much for Moxy...(The teacher turned the volume down during Video Bargainville)... So then its the middle of King Of Spain. A kid enters Art Room. He STOPS THE CD. He puts in Nirvana's "Nevermind." The aroma of Smells Like Teen Spirit fills the room... It was an insanely rude and stupid thing to do. I dont HATE Nirvana, but why put on a CD everyone has heard 100 times before? What is the POINT? No one seemed to mind Moxy, but there were several expressions of disgust and "turn this off!" for Nirvana. Not to mention it was a pretty depressing and angry choice for the club...it certainly made me feel like shit.. Sigh...well thats it. I wish it at least made it to Laika. :( Jordan (um..male one..bleh.) I was at a school semiformal and requested IWHO. Well... people started booing even before Jian started singing. The DJ was saying things like, "Hey, don't look at me! Some weirdo requested it, I think." Suffice to say, before the song got to the line "I'll hold the line so you can call", the DJ said, "Okay, that's enough of that..." and turned on some more so-called rap. Oy.
