You're welcome ^_^ For starters, ditch Undernet. Being that it's so large, mean and evil people can just waltz in and be...mean and evil. You know what I mean, eh? I suggest Slashnet. There's more of a "geeky" crowd there. I think #moxyfruvous would fit in better there (I don't mean this as an insult, I swear ^_^) and attract a better gathering. Of course, being that I've never opened a channel there (but I've been meaning to!) I don't know how it works...more info can be found at (naturally) slashnet.org. The dawn of the faux new millenium is upon us. What are my plans for that night, you ask? HA! If only I knew! My family is taking a car trip down to visit my grandfather in florida. The thing is, My mother and I have to go back to school on the 2nd and if you familiar with the drive from NY to Ft. Lauderdale youd understand that it is unreasonaable to try and spend New Years down yonder and be home at some reasonable time sunday night. Also, getting home early on the 31st (or the 30th) leaves us very little time to spend w/ grandpa (because vacation is short this year). So, as it stands, we're spending New Years somewhere between Florida and New York. I was very destraught at the prospect of spending New Years in Deleware (which one of you guys owns that one??) But, as luck would have it I happened upon a First Night Celebration in Montgomery MD featuring DAVINCI'S NOTEBOOK. yay! So, I was wondering if any of you planned on being there, or if there is anything that i should be aware of or looking forward to (this will be my first DVN concert if i *do* end up there). I'm still jealous of those of you who are going to buffalo...sigh... Solem, Genna ~~~~~~~ "Ford, you're turning into a penguin. I plan on being there, myself. I would say that you should look forward to it, but I may be just a tad biased. If I weren't going to our show, I would personally want to go to the Eddie from Ohio/Bill Kirchen & Too Much Fun show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA that night, but it's a tad more expensive--$150 for the night (dinner & champagne toast included). But it *is* another option. What the heck does it mean to >be handing out horseshoes??? Or for that matter, tossing them??? > well, it seems i have come up with a different interp than the others who posted, so i'll share. I think it's saying "take responcibility, take action" It says acknowlage what youve lost but pay attention to what's coming. He gives up his toy trains (which he probably cared about very much) in exchange for a myopic gain (not doing his dishes for a night). Instead, he should have taken care of what he cared about. He thought about being in a temporary "heaven" for lying to his lover. But he realized that that was wrong. So he summund up his courage and told her the truth. I *dont* get the impression that he was dumped, moreso, i get the impression that things got better. Hey, the singing angels came back! He's pointing out that "you keep handing out horseshoes" your giving them away, for other people to deal with how they see fit. Horseshoes weren't meant to give out, they were meant to be tossed. Gut intstints and principles werent ment to sit on, they were ment to cause action. "Don't push the river, if you love it set it free." if you care about it, take care *of* it. he does this with a lover, and she sends him a Dear John (dear Jian?) letter. things dont allways work out. Count your losses. but still, throw those horseshoes! Solem, Genna ~~~~~~~ "Ford, you're turning into a penguin.
