I've been to the 9:30 Club a zillion times, and for those of you who have never been there, I figured I'd dash out the basics of it. (i can pretend i have a purpose around here!) It's a pretty big club, i want to say that maximum occupancy is around 900, but i could be completely off. there is a big floor area, where most people stand. there is lots of dancing room, which is my favorite part. on the left and right are two bars, and on the left is also a food concession. (i highly reccomend the nachos, by the way.) as long as you are nice, its really easy to worm your way right up to the stage. even if you cant, the entire floor area has a pretty good view. aside from the floor, there is a balcony with seat-like steps running around the second floor. you have a nice arial view from there too, if standing on the floor and being smushed isn't your thing. there's an additional bar on the second level, and there is also a long table with seats that gives a very very good view. mmm. what else? usually there is a coat check, but since this is a smaller show, it might not be running. they're really strict about the underage drinking policy the club can be kind of jerky about bringing in things like cameras, i've never been able to sneak one in. sometimes they check bags too. if you get there before the doors open, expect to wait outside for sure. it's also not in the nicest neighborhood either, you might want to shell out the 7 or 10 bucks to park in the guarded lot across the street. well, thats my moment of knowledge! hope it helps :) - -anna- - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: 21 Jan 1999 06:10:11 GMT From: "Hell Hotel" Subject: get moxy on tv hey everyone go write an email to the different late night tv shows...the addresses are on FDC....get them on Letterman or Conan etc....cmon..get them some well deserved publicity!!! - -Eric HellHotel@tmbg.org Http://i.am/HellHotel **************************************************************************** fruvous: (froo`ves)n 1. Sorry. > Carry on, carry on.... ROTFLMAO!!!!! ahem... Lori, grab me on the way, I got dibs on Yoda! ;^} I bought one of the psuedo-bumper stickers... I could tell when I first touched it that it would not survive Rochester weather... and I opted to give it to my friend Julie who couldn't make it to the Alfred show with me (they also didn't hold the Sharpie perm marker well either... I tested it before collecting 'graphs set #2 [the way cool Summer '97 tour postcard], and it smeared). She was most pleased :^) But I'll have to grab another for myself! I loved my Hondas... It was heartbreaking for me to give up Rumble, but it was going to cost way more than the value of the car to repair the engine. I'm in the same boat with Fang, and desperately trying to talk myself out of dropping another engine in. The body is totally rusty and banged up, the driver's side door doesn't lock; there are holes in the filler tube which allow gas to leak when I'm filling the tank (apparently there was a recall on '83 Hondas because of this, but I cant' track down what happened with this one specifically). Because of these holes, water and dirt also get into the gas tank, which leads to frozen gas lines in the winter and clogged carburetor... so I have to drive with one foot on the brake and one on the gas or it will stall ;^} But ya know, Fang's got personality, and I know his quirks... as long as I keep dumping gasline antifreeze and water remover in the tank, and requesting a spill pan before filling the tank... I can drive with no problems; I'm actually more cautious and Fang deals with the roads very well. *sigh* I think I'm talking myself into that replacement engine again... must... resist... must... be... logical... Re: Valentine's Day - well, I'm singing in a concert at RIT on V-day... sappy love songs (which I actually love singing, I'm huge on ballads).
