Just because I find myself incredibly funny (well, someone has to) and all this talk about dreams and FrüDolls keeps reminding me of it, I'm re-posting my dream from November! There's all the specs I require for my special addition Früvous Action figures (but... who gets the kung-fu grip? Oh yeah... Spidey) From 11/13/98: The dream "began" with my snapping awake at the end of this huge corp round-table meeting, they were all blank, faceless corporate figures. Everyone was applauding and clapping each other on the back and mumbling about "great idea, we'll make a mint." There was myself and four other people in these tiny chairs with name placards that said "the little people." I had no idea what this great idea was, but the next thing I know these huge gorilla like Corporate Goons are "escorting" us little people out of the conf. room and out onto the street. Then hundreds of these faceless goons come pouring out of the building and running from store to store to store and us "little people" watch them. They rushed into a store, swiped the Spice Girls dolls off the rack and replaced them with Moxy Fruvous dolls (not dolls, action figures!) The dolls (why do I remember this??) each came with an instrument and a prop: Murray came with two eye-blinding shirts and a bass, Mike came with A fedora and a megaphone, Dave came with an accordian and a blue and yellow KoS hat, and Jian came with a dumbek and "real comb-able hair!" They also each came with a "special bonus recording of 'King of Spain' Inside!" Us "little people" went to a concert a few days later and there were a pair of corp goons on either side of the stage... Murray and Dave would occasionally give them a quizzical look or shake their heads... and at one point Murray started making faces and giving one of the goons bunny ears behind his back, much to the glee of the fans. At what seemed like a calculated point in the concert the goons started flinging Fruvous Figures out at the audience like robots. It was so weird... - --Angie, growing very egocentric in her old age.
