The show was great (how unusual for a frü show) but i just had to share a neat tidbit of musical genus i noticed. The "other guy", Dan Burn was out on stage playing and then invited Früvous to come on and play with him. Of course the guys didn't know his music at all so Dan started to play. Jian started a drum line. Dave and Murry were watching Dan's hands intently memorizing the chord progressions that he was playing. Mike couldn't see Dan's hands so he watched what Dave did. It was completely awesome! A minute ago they didn't know the song at all and now Murry is kicking with an awesome bass line, Dave has put together a "melody" to go along with Dan's chords. Mike was creating an original accompniment and all within a minute of Dan starting his song! It was very very cool. Also! Is anyone else drooling at the thought of the new album? They played a lot of new songs that night. I'm learning to love Sad Girl, though i hated it the first time i heard it. You Can't Be Too Careful is also pretty cool, but it hasn't sunk in as a Frü tune yet. Then there is this other song... I Will Hold On. Wow - gotta love it. It's going to be one of my favorites. Well, that's all i have to say for now. Actually, I think the guys are at least somewhat famaliar with Dan's stuff, and the songs they were playing with him are easy anyway... 4 chords in a repeating pattern, once you know that, it's pretty easy from there (if you know what you're doing, of course, I have a little different perspective, speaking as a guitarist). But yeah, the guys are incredible musicians, espically Dave.
