Yeah, it's a free market, and all that, but it seems to me that this type of activity is a bit over the top. I know that the owner of the tape is simply attempting to sell it for the best price he can get. I know that it isn't a bootleg so it isn't taking money from the band. I know that the people bidding are interested enough to part with that kind of money in order to have a copy of the tape. It's just that I'm getting those *NO* feelings about this whole thing. I've got my eye out for used copies of the Indie tape at used music stores for a few people here on the list. When I find them, I will let you know (you know who you are) and you will get the original receipt with the price I paid for it with your tape. Maybe I am just blowing my own horn here, but I can't see making a quick buck over something that so many hold so dear. It would be like selling the gospel to me, for crying out loud! But the Gods were smiling upon us and we went right through! That was tough luck for you guys! >extra lengthy FrüDelay. It was nearly 45 minutes > between the two bands, and the Früvous stuff was ALREADY set-up > beforehand! That was DEFINITELY a stretch for a delay!!! And when Jian "commented" on our resulting applause, I couldn't help but shrug. BUT the show was GREAT! I was psyched that they played their new one "Downsizing." I love Dave's guitar in that one and especially the lyrics. I think I first heard it at Hamilton College (we were able to get to BOTH of the Clinton shows, it was a perfect weekend!) The "Kid's Song" was WONDERFUL! I had never seen it performed, that and "Sahara" actually. I've heard REALLY good things about the extended version of "Sahara" when they use it to start a concert. I mean, well, we DID follow them from Clinton to Clinton to Canada, but I CERTAINLY don't consider myself as having sheep attributes. > Finally, is it just me or did it seem like they skipped a section in > GE&H and Drinking Song? I don't know about "GE&H," but "The Drinking Song" was ... "abridged" Being front-row, I can definitely say that Mike tweeked the lyrics a bit. His expression gave away the mistake, but I think we all forgave him. But of course, we weren't really helpful with swinging back to "Between poles ..." (I think that entire verse might have been cut) but it was still great that we all joined in for that classic show-wrap-up. > Also, I do enjoy the slightly faster version of > I Will Hold On. You do? Speaking of which, I was curious, since I haven't been to one of those before - how does the "benefit" work? Does the band have a special fund set up for the proceeds of this event? Does the money go to one specific organization or charity, or several? Does it all stay in Canada, or is it international?
