Of course they *could* drive it: Leave NYC on Sunday 1/3/99 at 9:00AM sharp. Figure on arriving at 4:00PM Pacific Time. That leaves 46 hours to drive 2800 miles... easily done at just over 60MPH. Maybe if they rotate driving/sleeping schedules, bring a few days worth of food, pee out the windows, and find a way to deal with the smell, they'll get to LA in time for a quick shower before soundcheck. ... or they could fly. ;) There was a recent issue of Car & Driver where some magazine editors attempted to break the non-stop NY to San Fran record... with truly NO stops!
