So here we were, all clustered about my puter, all excited about going to Ithaca to see Fruvous, and we got shot down. It was about the funniest thing that's happened to me all week! I've never compared my own Moxy Fruvous obsession with anything religious, and I'm sure you haven't either. I guess I've never gotten that concerned over that particular commandment, it doesn't seem to relevant to me. Now, that one about taking the Lord's name in vain...um, heh heh, oops! Um, actually Josh, that is the price for PATRON and SPONSOR tickets respectively, and it is a very good cause. For the rest of us plebeians and starving students the regular ticket price is $28.50. Their wording is "Current annual Ark members can purchase advance tickets for $28.50 BY MAIL November 2 and November 30." Then, the general public can get the tickets at $60/$120. That sounds to me like only members of The Ark can get the lower ticket price. At any rate, it's too late to get the cheap price if you haven't already. That sounds > to me like only members of The Ark can get the lower ticket price. Nope it says: "Current annual Ark members can purchase advance tickets for $28.50 BY MAIL November 2 and November 30. Only requests postmarked between November 2nd and November 30th will be accepted. NO PHONE ORDERS. General public sales of Folk Festival tickets will begin on December 7, 1998 at the Michigan Union Ticket Office and all TicketMaster Outlets. Patron & Sponsor Tickets on Sale Beginning November 2nd. Anyone can purchase Patron or Sponsor tickets. Patron Tickets: $60 Includes: a great seat and a tax-deductible donation to The Ark! Sponsor Tickets: $120 Includes: a great seat and tax-deductible donation to The Ark / Free parking pass for the night of the show / Backstage reception during intermission / Discounts at area businesses!" Based on my reading of the above (and my knowlege of the Ark which has never granted members anything like a $32 discount) I understand the info to mean that Ark members can send for tix in November for $28.50 and ANYONE ELSE who wants to make a donation (as the members have done) can also send for tix in November for 60 or 120 dollars. It says nothing about ticket prices at the Michigan Union Ticket Office, so I would assume that they are also $28.50 which is the price sans donation. If they are more than $28.50 I'm sure they wouldn't be that much more. I'd have become an Ark member long ago if they were giving discounts like that. Here's the lowdown on getting Moxy stuff in the civilised world (a joke! a joke! look! smilies --> :) :) :) ). You can get Bargainville and Live Noise on import. (18 pounds-ish). Wood is actually released here on Warner, but its a bit (oh alright a lot) difficult to find. Having said that I did see two copies of it in one of the megastores in London not so long ago at normal price. `b' and You Will Go to the Moon cannot (in my experience) be had for love nor money. There's also a demo tape that's incredibly rare even in Canada, so you don't stand a snow-ball's chance of getting it here. I've never seen any of the singles.
